At least it hasn't been carved up. Some elbow grease and wrenching and it'll look great back in OD.
I always try to remember that some where, someone, is as proud as a peacock of that baby.
Scary proposition. DMVs and police take a dim view of number swapping.
If the VIN is in the system then you need a bill of sale from the last owner or proof that they no longer have any interest in the vehicle.
If the vin is out of the system, DMV here allows us to fill out a "statement of...
Fuel pump bottom view
Here's what the bottom of an assembled fuel pump should look like. Amazing what you can do with a scanner when you don't know it's not possible.
Looks like you're on the right track. The only difference I can see on mine is that the plate is held in place by a length of wire laced in and out of the holes. I can set my pump on my scanner and get a picture if you like.
I can't seem to view your picture but there are also two "brackets" for want of a better word that run down the back corners of the cabs and are for the support legs for the ring mount. All our radio antenna brackets mount using this same bracket. Go to the Photo Gallery, open my "M35A3" folder...
Nice looking set-up but way outta my wallet-range; but if you start stocking them, let us know.
For the baby HEMTT; I'm wiring a third battery, charged off of my 24v to 12v step-down converter into a fused terminal block to driver's side and pass. side "cigar lighter" outlets and one additional...
I'm with you; we'll be seeing more and more of the newer trucks like the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles; 2.5 ton 4X4 LMTV and the 5 ton 6X6 MTV. It would be nice to have a slot for them too.
Nice pics of the very rare 6X6 Unimog gun truck and the 6X6 PLS/gun truck/tractor/shop tug variant...
Mske sure that the front axle is definately, completely disengaged and not just partly released. (We flip our control back to "disengage" then back up until the light goes out). IF hanging up; the transfer case slider may be a little gummy, or the vent side of the air circuit may not be...
Check out ebay item #8074537396 These are about as small as I've seen and should fit right in with the clear lenses and the leds themselves giving the color.
He's right. We screw a slide hammer into the hole and it makes short work of pulling the shaft for rebuild. Also a good idea on screwing a bolt into it to protect the threads.
No problem SS. Glad to see you're surfacing again.
Tell Bruce I've got some HEMTT top bows if he's interested. AND, my compliments on a beautiful HEMTT restoration! Give him a heads up too on the up-armored HMMWVs. We're finding that they're now top-heavy and prone to flipping.
Jim Wallew...
I've got a paper hole template out of one our marker light mod. kits. Can add dimensions and scan it in for the tech articles section if anybody thinks it's of interest.
Bear with me on this one; can't remember right now if Unimogs have accelerator pumps or not. With the engine shut down and air cleaner horn off you should be able to see down the carb throat and see if you get fuel spray when you work the throttle linkage. Fuel to the carb float bowl is not...
