    Spartan Locker pros and cons..

Yep, your driving habits will have to change a bit with Detroit style lockers, especially on slippery slide slopes. I suppose that unlocking one hub could help, but I've never tried. It probably wouldn't be much worse than with an open diff.

    419 Won't Start

Well, there's a lot of wiring, connectors, two switches, and a fuse or two, that gets bypassed when jumping at the solenoid. The problem is somewhere in there, but where is the question. I'd make a simple jumper cable with bullet connectors (shown in a previous post, but maybe not in this...

    419 Won't Start

If you leave the clutch pedal alone, push the switch with your right hand, and the starter button with your left. No guarantees that the switch is guilty, but it's easy enough to prove it innocent. To jump at the solenoid, bypassing the whole starter circuit, do it it normal fashion by putting...

    419 Won't Start

Check that dumb clutch safety switch before you get too discouraged. Also if the starter (and solenoid) works if you jump it at the solenoid.

    M1008 Bobbed?

Useless can be a relative term. Take an over the road tractor running bobtail, for example. It can't haul anything other than the trailers it was designed to pull, doesn't stop worth a **** (especially the older ones without front brakes), and the ride is not good even with air suspension. Yet...

Did you oil you differential lock cylinders on your SEE?

This happens to be the official picture-less thread. What picture did you have in mind?

    Lift kit for M1009

I wish I had time to play along with your little game, which I did for a while, before realizing what you're (most likely) doing. Besides, I completely fail to comprehend what anyone with three or more functional brain cells could possibly need to learn about installing a K-5 lift kit that...

    Lift kit for M1009

I hope it deters people without basic logical abilities from attempting the simple task of lifting a leaf sprung vehicle with live axles. Also, it's against better knowledge that I reply to these posts, as they reek of "I have nothing better to do than waste my and others' time by pretending to...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Last night I thought about doing it "in reverse", as I think you are suggesting; mount the plate to the back of the bucket and let that dictate where the parts end up. It sure would simplify the positioning if using adapter parts that aren't tied together. Of course, it wouldn't take much to tie...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Glad you did find them, and I hope some of it makes sense. As I recall, the bucket movement limitation was fixed with minor grinding. Or at least I haven't noticed a difference. But, yes, I would do it a bit differently a second time around. Rather than using the more expensive Titan kit, I'd...

Shocks, opinion, recomendiations or what are you using?

I like Rancho 9000s, as I can adjust them for the task on hand, and largely get the ride quality I want.

The width worked out well, if only barely. If you can't find the posts I can take new photos...which is easier than find the old ones. Although, the cutting and welding involved wouldn't be shown with new ones.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Couch Off Road was working on one, but I haven't looked into if there's been any progress or not in the last year, or so. I needed one quicker and built my own from a Titan kit. It wasn't particularly hard to do. If you go back many, many pages in this thread you'll find photos of how it went...

Sorry, I misunderstood you and thought that you needed 80 psi to seat them. And tire lube that dries slowly is indeed a good thing when working on setups that aren't feasible for the tire machine. I need to get something like that Magnum stuff. I noticed a big difference in flotation qualities...

    D60/14BFF Axle Swap on M1009

It takes longer, but eventually the diff housing will wear down (up, technically) by being scraped over rocks and create extra clearance all by itself. Until, one day, it has worn so thin that the process has to be started over with a new axle housing, or a plate welded in for strength.

Yikes! That's when an inflation cage comes in handy. Then again, using the SEE's tire inflator you had plenty of time to go to the next county to take cover. What did you use for tire lube?

    86 M1009 water fording ideas

That's pretty much the setup described in post number 18. But I think that even 5 psi may be too much for regular seals.

Hey, I do my best to make the chores as efficient and fun as possible. And I certainly didn't buy the FLUs to drive down the road with, or take to car shows. They get to work for a living...and I get to live to keep them working.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

After adding another 12, or so, trailer loads of dirt to the pile, it was time to hone my dozer operator skills. It's impressive that the SEE can push dirt slightly uphill, and to the point that it goes over the top of the blade, in 4WD. No lockers needed. On a totally different note, thanks...

    M1008 Bobbed?

I would imagine that without any weight in the rear to speak of, freeway expansion joints could be fairly brutal. With some weight (a trailer) back there it'd probably be much like a stiffly sprung K-5 Blazer. This ones' wheel base is a little longer than a Blazer, because it was getting cramped...
