You're likely already aware of this, yet ATF (especially Dextron\Mercon 3 and newer) have lots of detergents and additives that help with flushing. One of the old shadetree tricks was to use ATF in places it wasn't meant for it and let the lighter oil and detergents flush out crud as you say...
Nice info, yet what's the point of any of this? If the pressure is a few psi "over" under some condition, what does it matter?
I'm using the JAtonka spin on oil and fuel filters. Should I be concerned?
Didn't I scan that for you a year or so ago? I have it on pdf and still have the original in a bookcase in my office. Rustystud I've tried to chat with you about scanning stuff, but never hear back from you.
Do you have a source and part number for the brass connectors? I'm about to bolt up some new lines and would like to replace the T fittings if I can. I have one spare banjo fitting and would like to get another local if I can. The part number in the spreadsheet here for Oreilly did not work

If you have something scanned I can do it for you. I scanned one for someone on here a few months ago. I live in N Portland so we're not that far away. We're actually going mushroom hunting not for from you in a couple hours.
I've been meaning to touch base with you on a few other things...
I went to do a brake adjustment on the intermediate axle and found binding when I turned the hubs. As it turns out, the differential had failed and I swapped in another axle. She's back on the ground, yet I plan to do a number of other maintenance activities before driving it again. The...
ALL of the gages in the truck are a "suggestion." I recently tried a pile of gages for air pressure and got readings all over the map. I would like to check with a bonna-fide, calibrated, high quality gage and toss the ones with innacurate readings. I would prefer not to buy another tool...

I would definitely clean up any surface rust and polish the areas the seals touch. I've been through this too and it seems to me the outer seals sometimes don't seal perfectly and there's always a fresh supply of gear oil as once it comes down the axle housing to the end, it gets...
