Do pay attention to the gasket pack, as that is the only way to set the gear engagement depth.
Time consuming trial and error is the only way to do it.

Gotta like the Hydramatic trans (when it works right). Hard to beat in all wheel drive.
That 302 GMC six runs down the highway just fine, too. Overall, the GMC truck was a very well engineered design, in many ways superior to the Reo.

About the only good reason to buy a Hi-Lift jack...wrestling towbars by yourself.
It can support, and even push one sideways if necessary.
Paint it OD green and keep with your OBE.

Sounds mighty fine!
My old M543 wrecker was powered by one, years ago I drove it from Yuma, AZ. to Mesa, AZ., (about 210 miles) and burned just over 200 gallons of gas, but it purred like an angry kitten and had a most lovely blue flame out the exhaust: 34,000 lbs at 55mph.

Any ignition coil designed for the battery voltage will do just fine.
The 6602 was a triumph of automotive engineering.
Over 220 HP, at a very usable RPM torque curve. Mill the heads a hundred thousandths and it will really perk up, even on regular gas.
Sodium filled valves with Stellite...
They will clear everything but the splash shield over the pedals. You'll have to trim off a little bit at the bottom.
If you are looking at converted pre-war Ford Model AA wheels, be aware they are too narrow for proper fitment of 9.00-20 tires.

I'd ditch the commercial tailights and go with composites. Maybe the same in front.
HUMMV light buckets are easy to source & mount.
And keep a pintle hook in that receiver at all times!

One nice thing is the copper and Nylon can use (or reuse) the same fittings, as the OD is the same. The new fittings sold for use with plastic lines have a slightly different outside dimension, but either works.
One will have to buy new barrels for the job, as the old ones will be crimped on...
That light switch is just another modern succumbing to the "bigger, faster, better" trope.
Follows the trail of computers in everything.
If you ask me, the less dependence on electronic crap in MV's, the better.
I've yet to see LED headlights with the correct color illumination (too blue...
Boatanchors rule in my circles; both civilian and military radio gear.
Somehow over a dozen Hammarlund Super-pros live here...
Not to mention vintage homebrew TX.

Cooling system stopleak has really improved of late.
That 'Blue' stuff ain't cheap, but it works and is guaranteed.
Put some in and go about your biz.

We've come a long way, you say? Dunno 'bout that.
An AN/GRC19 will work just fine after an atomic attack (like a cockroach).
A 'modern' radio will prolly be junk after a local power surge.

Their mindset is why. Some don't like military vehicles at all on 'their' streets.
Since there is nothing they can do about it when in service, they sure as Hell aren't going to have a citizen driving one wherever and whenever they want.
Narrowminded political revenge and fear sums it up.
