The 1/0 welding cable is rated for 172 amps, the 2/0 is rated for 200 amps. The 2/0 cable is larger than the 1/0 cable. You can use it for slaving purposes, but just as with any slaving scenario, keep an eye on the heat generated in the cables.
Check that popular internet auction site, or if your not into originality, find a 28 volt DC buzzer or Sonalert and replace with that. You may want to try some of our vendors also.

Yes, the generator exciter is turned off with the accessory switch. You may want to see if you can adjust the output, there is an adjustment pot under a hex plug toward to rear end of the generator. If this doesn't work, you may need a new voltage regulator. This is one place you can find one...
You may have do a little more searching, but I remember reading someone using a snowmobile shock. The only mod was to drill the rubber bushings out a little.
There was a study done comparing different penetrants, PB Blaster rated pretty high on the list and WD-40 not so good. I think the best compostion they found was a 50/50 mix of Acetone and ATF. The study was in Machinist's Workshop Magazine.
