    Distracted Driving

If you're going 55 in an 80? lol. You're a slow moving vehicle. Tangentially related... I hate it with a PASSION when I'm blocking a lane, arrow stick on, flashing lights, and people wanna come RIGHT UP to my vehicle before changing lanes... There are some cases where you had a MILE + (VERY...

    Distracted Driving

Most states require flashing warning lights on slow moving vehicles. The definition of flashing lights and what constitutes a slow moving vehicle vary by state law. 15 MPH is the marker I use as well... There are some states, like WA, where any back up of 5 vehicles or more necessitates you...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

There is a retention tab that locks the connector on. Also, the tabs are just held in place via screws, so you can unscrew the nut, remove the tabs, and use the existing ring connectors if you choose.

Replaced the GP relay on my M1031.. I converted it to manual push button years ago, and noticed it would 'clunk' but I'd get no juice (led on output, so no light =no plugs). It went from happening once a month to once a week to having to sit there cycling the solenoid until it'd 'catch'. So...

Deuce crash in Winston-Salem, NC, 11/2017

Previous tickets, especially dismissed ones, cannot, per law, be used against someone to determine fault or guilt on a current matter. This is called prejudice. if I flip a quarter 4 times, and 3 times it comes up heads, what's the probability of the next flip being heads? If you know...

Deuce crash in Winston-Salem, NC, 11/2017

I dunno about NC, but I've seen enough cases in the few times I've had to be in court, that if you show up in court with reg/insurance/etc they usually look at it as 'lesson learned' and toss it. If this is the case, it does nothing to discourage the behavior. They have nothing to lose, because...

Fun with PA DOT officer ending in putting me out of service + $1200 in fines

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

For all those 'keep it stock' people... Remember, just because 'it's always been done that way' or 'that's the way it was designed', doesn't mean it's the right or best way... It's one thing if it's a museum piece, but as a daily driver, reliability is more important than originality, IMHO...
