    M35A2C circa 1968 Strange Bracket

Hmmm, I don't see how this is so. Pics attached. My verticals just fit in the rectangular cutouts in the front end of the bed. The issue I see is that not all degrees of freedom are restrained. In other words, if you stand in the bed and look forward the verticals have little to no control...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I think Rain-X is more effective with these trucks than wipers. I plan to clean all of my windows real good and give them a 2nd coat. On the inside I wipe them down with a water and light dish soap water mix to help prevent them fogging up. My 2 cents...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Yesterday I stopped to take on fuel and got a “click” but no starter engagement when I hit the start button. Tried it every 30 seconds or so for a couple minutes before it started. So, I pulled my battery tray and cleaned all of the connections. One of the terminals post had a big pit corroded...

    M35A2C circa 1968 Strange Bracket

Thanks for the great responses! I’ve only had my truck a few months and still on a steep learning curve. I usually leave the top portion of the bows laying in the yard or against the fence when not in use. Now I know better. I mount the verticals and corners in the front of the bed all the...

    M35A2C circa 1968 Strange Bracket

M35A2C circa 1968 Strange Bracket My M35A2C has a pair of brackets (one on each side behind the cab) that are really rods with two brackets similar to the Jerry can mount strap brackets, except that they are narrower, say for a ¾ inch wide strap. It seems like they could be used to allow full...

Can you have too much oil pressure?

Hey TAKPAK!. Nice to see you on here. I’m in Portland so best we will cross paths one of these days. I think there are different issues here that are getting confounded, so I’ll try to address them one at a time. Can Oil Pressure be Too High? Yes! Abnormally high oil pressure can suggest that...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Welcome aboard Captaincarrier! I just purchased my 1st Deuce earlier this year also. The 1st things I did was change the oil, then all of the fuel filters, check all lights, tire pressure, new wiper blades, Rain-X the windows, fix a leak in the coolant system, etc. I was blessed because a...

M35A2 Toe Check and Adjustment (if necessary)

The tires were not warmed up; the truck sat in the drive overnight. I wouldn't expect (my gut instint) the tires to take a set so easily. Maybe next time I'll mark the spot where the tire sat or perhaps mark what appear to be the flat spots and see if they check as flat a week or two later...

M35A2 Toe Check and Adjustment (if necessary)

M35A2 Toe Check and Adjustment (if necessary) I decided to check the toe (or toe-in if you prefer) on my truck. This is listed as a semiannual interval in TM 9-2320-361-24-1, which calls out the correct toe-in adjustment of 0.13 ± 0.06 inch (3.2 ± 1.6mm). This is also the only relatively...

    fuel leaking from fdc

Please provide pics and giv emore info if you can. My truck does not have the FDC bypassed and starts rough. It will start then die when cold. If I give it some hand throttle so that it comes to ~900 RPM on a cold start it does not die. Haven't figured out what is causing it. I do have a...

    Sweet! Where'd you find that?

    What is this!?

Nice to see that someone gave the corect answer rather than being a smart arse. My truck has one also. Would like to source the other parts for the ring... Anyone with the others? If so, please send me a PM

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Very nice work 59apache! On the wheel chocks, I agree about preferably chocking the front wheels rather than the rear wheels due to the additional weight. Better yet, chock them both!

    m35a2 BRAKE REPLACEMENT

This is an old thread, but I don't know if the question was ever answered directly. I found TM9-2320-361-20 Chapter 8 and TM9-2320-209-34-2-1 Charper 12 cover everything with the brakes pretty well.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I recently figured out that a 4x4 cut to about 20 inches makes and excellent tire chock for the size of tires these trucks have.

Is there supposed to be something in this hole ?

My truck has the same leakage and I've also found it on every other truck I checked. I've also observed that they seem to leak where the zipper is. Some of the surplus places sell a one-piece boot that requires you to take most of the front end apart. I don’t do any fording unless it is truly...

    1965 M109a3 Transmission Drain Plug

Pic? Can you take a pic of the missing plug location (or a couple) and post them? I always like to confirm the part you are inquiring about is the part I think it is.

    E-Brake (parking) Operation and Adjustment

I like the power bleeder thread, but decided to start a new one on the parking brake (e-brake). One of my buddies seems to be having trouble with his e-brake, saying that it seems the cable is frozen and the e-brake doesn’t work effectively. So, I took pictures of mine in the engaged and...

How easy is it to use the Hi/Lo control on the transfer case ?

JCole I could use a fish scale or something to do as your request, if I could find it in my garage... I think it would be highly variable and I find the stopped vs. movement speed and double-clutching to make it highly variable. Mine sometimes requires a good push or pull to make it all the...

    deuce soft top removal question

I've never taken mine off, so can't help much. If you don't get it figured out in the next few days I'll tear into it next time the weather permits...
