    Maxspeed3's Deuce Build Thread

I look forward to checking out your pdf's of the boards. Mine are in real bad shape and I'd love to fix them this summer. Your work would spare me some extra effort. I was thinking light stain like puritan pine and a good coat of polyurethane. My turck is Desert Tan and I think natural wood...

Hey guy I think I have a head gasket blow out... what do you think

I think both is the clear answer. AND you could have mentioned the sharp popping noise and spraying water from the front of the engine. Fixing an oil leak is one thing, the video shows something completely different.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I disagree, yet want to make it clear that safety is very important and we all need to take it seriously, always. A statement such as “safety can ever be overstated” is improper though. How about something like “reasonable measures to ensure safely should always be followed?” Most of the public...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I like the idea of mounting a pair of Jerry cans behind the rear mud flaps. I suppose they could get a bump if on a very agressive and rough angle or backing up. Nothing an extra steel plate couldn't protect. Thanks for sharing a cool idea!

Hey guy I think I have a head gasket blow out... what do you think

Another idea I think this is the best suggestion so far. I would take a good look and not cloud your thinking by blaming the head gasket before you have evidence to confirm that is it. Also, a head garket can leak in many different ways and may or may not cause oil in water, water in oil...

    Weight of Deuce parts

I don't know about the standard deuce NDT's; however, I purchased a set of Michelin 365\80R20 tire and wheel assemblies surplus in never used condition that were designed for the MRAP or similar vehicle (I think). They have an odd wider 10-lug bolt pattern (do not bolt up to a 5 ton). Note...

What exactly are you suggesting be shimmed? My truck doesn't have a PTO and sometimes find downshifting to engine brake difficult. Any suggestions for me?

Will a lds465-1a interchange with a ldt465-1c and what is the differance?

Hey flathead Sorry to hear about your loss. Would you be kind enough to write an explanation about what happened, take lots of pics, and post your findings on the thread below? http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?96654-Death-of-a-Multifuel You'll also see a pile of questions I posted...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Today I installed a “PO man’s boost gage.” I used some spare brass fittings, 1/8 tubing and a 0-30 psi bourdon tube gage. I would prefer a 0-10 or 0-15, but didn’t have one of those handy. I installed the end in the 1/8 NPT threaded hole in the intake elbow. I think this is a good spot for...

    Fuel Injector Issue-LDT 465

Hey Junglemist, Thanks for posting some good info about these injectors. My engine makes a little popping sound under load (my imagination or is this normal?) and has a bit of a rough idle. I’m not sure if this is normal as I don’t have much experience with these engines. It also dies unless I...

    Death of a Multifuel

General Mcgregor, First, thank you for great documentation and good pics. Keep them coming! I would love to see more pics and get even more info to try to understand the root cause failure better. I know you want to get your truck running first, yet hope you will continue to share. Second...

    Is this a whistler Turbo?

Good info and good pics, thanks! That compressor housing is seems quite a bit bigger than the C turbo. Sorry not to be of much help, I think you're going to have to bolt it up to know if it whistles or not. I'm not much of a turbo expert to say the least, but think there's ratios (between...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My weekend activites with my M35A2C 1) Fixed a pair of coolant leaks. Since purchasing the truck about 2 months ago I’ve noticed a little dribble of coolant when the engine is cold that usually starts about 11AM and dribbles about a cup over the next hour as the weather warms up. It does not...

New Gauge mount Enclosure, attaches to steering column. W/new EGT & Boost Gauges

When will you make these boxes available? Are you willing to use me as a guinea pig to work on it with you? I'm very interested and would like a 0-15psi boost gage and EGT gage. My truck is desert tan, so I'll have to re-paint it...

Oil Filter Gaskets? NAPA Doesn't Show PN.

If you'd like to confirm NAPA p/n 1133 I've attached a picture. It's the stock filter for the multifuel engines (not one for the aftermarket spin on adapters).

anybody know a good shipping company...??

Hey guys. I’m looking to transport a M35A2C with about 1000 lb of additional material in the bed (about 14,000 lb total). I have about 15 quotes. They are all over the place! I have them as low as 50 cents a mile to $3 a mile. Do any of the folks here have real experiences transporting...

    Bigger Exhuast

Data? & agreement Do you have any data that shows no back pressure after the turbo? Have you ever hooked up a gage to show this at high RPM & loading (max power)? My observations is that the turbo exit is ~3 inches, gently tapers out in the elbow to 4 inches, has a 4 inch piece of flex...
