I would like to point out that what factories do to vans/RV are often driven by cost when they are building thousands. You are building 1. Companies pinch pennies. If a better solution might cost a little more, consider it. You're not reinventing the wheel, you're making a better one.

Hope I'm not stepping on the toes of the 1 bidder, who could be on SS.

Those steps use a special hinge for the threshold attachment. You can see the cabinet sized version in these pics. The second pic shows how they attach. In order to use their method I would have to buy at least one of their steps (to get the hinge) and modify it. I figure the cost to be...
Can't do a search because I don't know what it is or even where it goes. It was a loose part that was on the floor of a M1114 with a destroyed front end that I bought for parts.
The attachment pins are the kind that are somewhat quick release. Obviously, it must go somewhere that you...
The picture in post #10 shows two fuel tanks standing up - they will be mounted flat. Believe me, water tanks don't cost anywhere near what these did.
Post #1 has one of my sub-floor drawings. The fuel tanks are shaded orange in the drawing. The two tanks at the top of the drawing are for...
Thought I would update this thread.
Had custom tanks made for the bed.
After talking it over with a friend, decided to connect these tanks to the outside tanks with one-way valves & pumps for filling purposes only. These tanks will ride in the bed and be completely hidden. The point being...
The Deuce winch has quite a bit of cable length, and there are ways to run the cable that wouldn't hurt the truck. Though I agree that the truck may not always be in a situation where running the winch cable would be easy. For instance, sitting in 5 feet of water/mud. Though, that poster did...
There are pros that will do this sort of thing, you can find shops on the internet. And some of the people on here are certified and/or their trucks never leave their property or see pavement. However, if you're going off road, it won't matter as no insurance will attach to off road anyways...
Well, we're still talking theoretical...you could change the hubs. Or just go with a 5 ton to begin with. I bought a Deuce for the fuel mileage because I take long trips and it made sense. If you're designing for off road, maybe you should move away from the M35?
A web search comes up with 10x335, and looking at Oshkosh's web page, MRAP Wheel / Rim - Oshkosh Equipment , they also list it as 10x335.

Got this for such occasions. Fits between the tires and rolls out almost the entire length. A luxury maybe, but I've had to crawl under in the mud before too.
My wheels never came close to my exhaust. I sold my 10 wheel set about a year ago. I originally got them from Ft. Lewis. Look for govplanet military auctions. Mine came with Michelin XL's on them.
For what it's worth, some super singles (Michelin) are designed to be used with inner tubes.
Also, though I never tried it with power steering, the M1076 wheel, which I used for 395's has a 0 offset and didn't rub when turning.
See attached flyer.
I've brought my M35A2 in the past and have encouraged other military vehicle owners to bring their vehicles, especially those from the Vietnam era.
I can do searches on the web, people pay me to do this. Also, any place that says "inquire within" I probably can't afford. I came here looking for real world experiences.
