    Flasher not flashing

You may wish to dis-assemble the turn signal switch and check the contacts, to be sure they are not bunt or corroded. While you have it apart, use a good contact cleaner to remove the crud.

    I Need Inurance

You "think" it's a 5 ton? Once you get the insurance thing figured out, it would be a good idea to download the appropriate TM's on your vehicle.

    Another Oil Question

:ditto: Chevron DELO 400 is a good alternative, I usually purchase whatever is cheaper between the Shell and Chevron diesel engine oils. I always use Lucas, but discussing that opens up a big can of worms.

Bjorn (Cranetruck) provided a thread with pix and what to replace when the magic smoke comes out. I believe there was a schematic also.

Front tire blow out going 55 MPH on the freeway

I've had the same thing happen to me once, only it was a left steer tire and I was in the left lane, it was a left hand exit off of I-25 North of Denver. Luckily my Dad was following behind me and started weaving back and forth so I could limp over to the right hand side. He said he heard the...

    Passenger seat plywood base

The holes help the foam to drain if it gets wet. When I rebuilt my springer driver's seat, I had to replace the plywood and it seems the 1/2" holes were spaced about on about 4" centers. When you make your new seat board, shoot it with some clear laquer (or paint), to protect it from the elements.

Thanks Bjorn! This time I'll file those 2 photos.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Steve, I thought the fit was outstanding, the rubber seals so well it's a little difficult to lock the window. I haven't been in the rain since the replacement, and I don't park my truck outside, but I'm almost positive it won't leak.

    Aftermarket Gauges?

I chose the Hewitt gauges because they didn't require any power (except for the back lighting) to operate. I had the factory install the 24 Volt LED's, and purchased the mount from Jeg's Performance or Summit Racing. The EGT Gauge I previously posted is not exactly the same unit I have. My...

    Aftermarket Gauges?

Folks have replaced the standard side-lighting lamp with a replacement lamp, where the filament is further toward the top of the glass envelope, providing for better light. This other lamp may make night time visibility a little more acceptable, however you may still wish to replace the existing...

    Aftermarket Gauges?

Why don't you troubleshoot the existing gauges and find a EGT (Pyro) and Boost gauge to match that, instead of replacing all the gauges? There are threads on changing lamps on the instrument panel to increase night time visibility. I found an EGT and Boost that come fairly close to the OEM...
