Well judging by the photos, there's no way those bearing aren't bad or soon will be. With that amount of rust and dirt serious degradation is aready started. Pulling those duals is just too much of a PITA not to do it for me. I'd rather be cruising down the road with one less worry. 2cents8)
I'm gonna cut 'em off, I've already tried spraying them. They really aren't binding enough to keep them from coming out. I haven't been able to even get them to budge, so when I cut them I can put the tailgate on the ground and use a 12 pounder on them directly. I'll just get some new round...
I may end up doing that, but I've got some time so I thought I'd try the cheapass route first. I would've liked to got one in Dayton at the show, but It wouldn't have fit in my Jeep anyway.
NOOO!
Sell that 109 box and buy a bed! You should have some extra money out of the deal to buy some steel. Making that box out of the 109 would be akin to building a Pinto from a Mercedes. Not nearly as many 109's as there are regular beds, and there have been several I've seen for as low...
Well I tried getting the hinge pins out of the tailgate, tried several methods. I just snapped the bolt on piece of my farm jack trying to loosen them. Screw it, the sawsall is next.
The project is to try and straighten out the damage to the tailgate and bed. I used an 8 ton bottle jack...
I had a pretty good time, and didn't spend too much money. I got to meet Doc, Crusher, and a couple others who I forget their names. (I can't remember names for crap.) I saw a bunch of great vehicles, but I was surprised not to see any Humvees. I was there for about 5 hours, but next year...
If one bearing is bad, you should replace both as a set. It would be just a matter of time before the other one went bad. I learned a good saying years ago. "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it right the second time?". You don't want...
Well, not to be the party pooper, but riding on the running board with a new driver might not be the best idea. Accidents can happen, and I don't think you'd want your daughters to experience something happening to you while they were driving. Just my 2 cents.
But anyway, maybe I'll use this...
My Dodge 2500 with a Cummins blew the water pump coming into the drive one day, and another I blew a brake line going out. If ya gotta break down, there's no place like home!
First thought is your're gonna need money. Lots of it. They had replica M2's at the Dayton show and they're around 1500K. The gun truck in the Arena had a Quad .50, 2-M2's, M-60's and a small minigun. Not to mention a real nice paint job and a lot of steel. But if you got the money, the...
I remember the Canadians came down to Camp Grayling Mi. for some joint forces training back in the eighties and they had at least one M34. They also had Military CJ's if I remember correctly. They were carring Sten's also I believe.
Yeah, I'm leaving from work in the morning so I'm about 20 minutes closer. I gotta get some stuff done around the house so I can only come out and play so much. I'm surprised she didn't have a cow when I told her I was going for just one day.
Well I told the wife "Okay, you don't have to go, I'll just go all by my lonesome." (BWAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAAA!!! She bought it!) So I'll be there Thursday. I'm gonna look for some new steps and mudflaps, don't know if I can afford much more right now. Did a nice swap with Justin from La...
I'd actually like to get a Petrogen torch, it uses gasoline and oxygen. We have them on our heavy rescues. It makes it much easier to refill and will cut way thicker stuff than Acetylene. A lot safer and cheaper too.
I need to make some repairs to the bed, and the fenders and doors have some bad spots as well. I have an Oxy/Acetylene setup, so I was thinking of cutting out some of the bad spots and brazing in new pieces. I know it would be nice to have a MIG or TIG, but the best I would be able to swing is...
It's probably not the right thing to do, but I'd stop, render any aid needed, and then tell the moron he got exactly what he deserved. And not nicely.
My daughter is in the process of getting her license, and the first thing I told her was that she'd done a lot of things in her life, but...
