    Zinc removed from oil?

they all have it - some just have more. try searching for zddp - it is the zinc addative. there is a lot of info on the net but basicly amsoil and rotella have two of the highest zonc contents available. it gets used up over time, between zinc loss and dilusion by contaminants from blowby you...

No power EGT's up there HELP

That's what I'm saying - the coked up exhaust and turbo are symptoms of an impropper combustion. Timing would explain it.

    Runaway Multifuel cutoff?

wouldn't a butterfly intake cutoff also function as well for engine braking as an exhaust brake? works OK for gas engines depending on compressions ratio. don't know if an exhaust brake would be able to shut down the engine but it should atleast limit the rpm to safe levels. (don't know how...

    Runaway Multifuel cutoff?

CO2 not sure the duration of a CO2 blast int he intake required to smother it, but you could easily rig up a 20oz or more CO2 tank with an electronic nitrous purge valve that would pump the co2 into the intake. would run about 100$ in brand new parts. or much much less if you get used parts...

    What's wrong with this picture

in theory wouldn't the bearings perform better bathed in gear oil than a thick grease? interestign catch though. Part of why I hate letting anyone else work on my vehicles, I usually end up having to fix something they messed up.

They must be out of their minds...

that's why retreading tires can be so cost effective. a lot of those tires are $$$$ key seems to always have an eye out for good surplus long before you need them.

    Electric Fan on Deuce

reviving an old thread: for the issue of the deuce not being able to be cooled on the highway without the fan running I wonder if this is due to buildup in the coolant system or from an undersized radiator that wasn't undersized so long as the fan was always running. if the radiator is...

flipping the center-sections in riveted wheels

looks good man, to the untrained eye the wheels look stock. In the process of getting my tires I ended up with 10 5ton wheels. Your project is making me think about removing the rivited center and welding in a flat center with the 6bolt pattern. Wouldn't look as stock but would get it done.
