You gonna be in town tomorrow? I'm coming up to san antonio tomorrow. Come by the state surplus yard if you want to see whose truck has the biggest cojones. ;) Er, assuming it runs.

    white multi fuel performance mods

What, are you trying to make your deuce out-accelerate ferraris?

Deuce that is slow to start.

Yes, but I usually don't wait 5 minutes.

Deuce that is slow to start.

Honestly, it takes me long enough to get the truck turned around, backed out, and otherwise manuevered to the gate, that I just ignore the buzzer. Pressure is usually up by the time I'm ready to roll onto the public street.

    "New" 1973 M35A2 w/M66

Remember, Texas has Former Military Vehicle registration. It's $50 for 5 years, pro-rated from a certain date. You can either get a FMV plate or go with markings in lieu of license plates. eta: If you're going to drive around in Austin, I wouldn't do it with the gun mounted to the ring. Or...

    tow bar feet?

could you post some pics of this tow bar? I have a sinking feeling I just won 5 of them and that I'm going to have a hard time finding the correct feet to tow deuces with them...

    A3 Tranny in an A2

ok, I watched the video. That was a big help by itself. So going back to your analogy, whereas the engine might normally stall at 1500 rpm, the torque converter allows the transmission to spin at that speed while the engine is turning at 2000 rpm... but even though the speed of the...

basically a big steel plate that runs from one side of the cab to the other. behind the seats. It's just a reinforcement plate to stiffen up the cab to keep the recoil of a ma deuce from tearing it up.

Is one of the internal blade thingies a smaller diameter than the other?

    A3 Tranny in an A2

ok, that's pretty dern clever. the fan analogy worked for me. I get how the torque converter allows the engine to turn even while the transmission isn't. but I don't understand how that would act like a gearing reduction. Referring to the analogy, I get that the TC is reducing input speed to...

so there's like an aircraft engine impeller inside the torque converter?

But the battery bank is hooked up to an electric foundry for casting new LDT-465 blocks. :-D

    A3 Tranny in an A2

so how does a torque converter multiply torque if it's essentially just a 1:1 clutch?

    multifuel dependabilty

Amen. I've recovered or helped recover 6 or 7 deuces now and all but one was driveable. The one that wasn't just had a varnished up throttle. But the engine ran just fine.

    Multi fuel powered Genset

He could use it to periodically recharge a battery bank. Recharge the bank at whatever speed gives peak engine efficiency.

    Multi fuel powered Genset

I think at least one person on here has run a PTO-driven generator off the PTO on a deuce...

    A3 Tranny in an A2

Multiplying torque is done at the price of speed. Which is exactly what a gear reduction does, right? Wheels aren't "gears" either, but they do act like gear reduction in the sense that a smaller wheel will provide more torque and less speed while a bigger wheel will provide more speed and...
