    $50 HMMWV in a crate?

Are you implying that acting on behalf of one's own self-interest is somehow immoral? Adam Smith would like to have a word with you.

    $50 HMMWV in a crate?

It's an auction. Not a sample table. If you thought they were worth more than he did, you should have bid on them.

    Liquid Fuel Filter Separator

I'm going to guess it's for separating water from fuel.

    euc process

My first one took 3 weeks from start to finish. Every one after that has taken 7 to 12 days or so.

    Dumb newbie starter question

Just got off the phone with the GM guy. The shims are discontinued but he can get them... for $18 EACH! The bracket is still a stocked GM part and those are like $3 each. So I'm just going to get the shims through NAPA and the bracket through GM.

    Dumb newbie starter question

What's the max number of shims I might need? 2?

    Dumb newbie starter question

I didn't see "no shim" on there. So it probably needs it. The GM guy is going to call me back tomorrow. I don't know about the bracket, but the shim was like 3.60something at NAPAonline. I would expect the bracket to be similar. I didn't ask about bolts because the "Help!" brand appear to...

    Dumb newbie starter question

Cool, I'll look more closely on the solenoid housing. Just called a GM dealer a half hour away and they can order the parts for me.

    Dumb newbie starter question

Hm. My 1009 is an 84. I'm not sure what year the 1009 the starter came off of was. I just looked at the nose cone and couldn't see anything stamped on there about a shim. Could be on the little piece of the nose cone that's missing, tho... Found it on NAPA anyways. I'll go ahead and order...

    gen set prices?

So a 1.21 Jiggawatt generator could power 180 to 300 houses? Or one time-travelling delorean?

See if you can find a local welder to sell you some scrap steel plate.

    M101A2 "Features"?

Oh yeah? ;) 1/2 ton silverado. 400+ miles from Alexandria to Beeville. No, I won't do that again. One of the longest, most constant intense stress situations I've ever put myself into. It was not fun. It was within the max towing capacity of the vehicle, but the height difference was a...

    Dumb newbie starter question

Wow. thanks warthog! I'll definitely print that out and study it as well. Yeah, I bought some starter bolts of the "Help!" brand. Size is 10-1.5x 113. I test fit them and it looks like they'll secure the starter in place. What I don't have is the 1MM spacer plate that sandwiches between...

    Dumb newbie starter question

Thanks, I'll try that one. I've been looking at 9-2320-289-20 F-3, and it just shows two wires going to "Starter Motor and Solenoid." One labeled 32 Red-1 (sgt) and the other labeled 3 PPL-6 (SXL)

    Dumb newbie starter question

Background: Got a 1009 off GL a few months ago. It has no starter. So I borrowed a friend's (broken housing) to bolt up temporarily just to test the engine. How do I know which cables hook up to which posts on the starter? In the TM, it says "when replacing, take note of which cable goes...

Has anyone built a big slide-in "truck" camper for a M35 Deuce?

M-280? shelter is like that. Just build a really stout frame to drive under that you can lift the shelter on and off with.

    Fort Sill Inspection help needed

Dang. aua Happen to have that tow company's number? I guess I'll need them on standby if it has problems. Thanks for the info. OR... If someone happens to have a deuce or something else big they wouldn't mind towing my deuce off-post with, that would be a huge help. Assuming it won't fire...

    Fort Sill Inspection help needed

I just won a deuce out of Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I'm about 480 miles to the south. If someone could go down and see if it has oil and if it will start (if you have means of jumping it), I would be extremely grateful. What's your favorite beer? If it will start, I plan to come up with a...

    Corpus Christi - WVO

Good luck. Most restaurants already have deals with other companies to take all of their WVO on a regular basis. And they're not going to want to upset the system they already have in place. Now, waster motor oil on the other hand... have any friends who happen to own and drive cars?

Swapping out overdrive for a larger gear

Yeah, I saw another thread around here where you or another guy was talking about this but it didn't look like it had yet been done. I was curious about the results of such a mod.
