If you have parts truck money invested in it, might be worth considering a sale. Winch is an easy removal and I'm sure there are plenty of folks that dream of finding that diamond in the rough that they can afford up front and tidy it up as they go. But, as others have eluded to, it's your...
PWB hasn't logged on since 2010. It's unlikely we'll be getting an update! I did see his puller going down the road on a trailer about 6 months ago so he's still around.
OK folks, we are 24 days out from the Official Start! I hate to sound like a broken record but here goes. Please commit some time to going back through this thread. Lots of conversation has taken place and nearly as much forgotten. Keep yourself up to speed on events and the changes in this...
Well, the 8 lug factory rims are 6 1/2 inches wide. I run 255/85R16s on Ford rims which are 7" wide. The 255 is ever so slightly taller than the 285. They fit just fine on the front. Rear fit will be a non issue except on the M1010 ambulance but they do fit their albeit close.
Now that all of the speculation is done, I will tell everyone exactly what they are, their stated purpose and where to find them...........tomorrow.
Just kidding. These are in fact, a lifting point. The only trucks theses are found on are the M45 and M46 chassis trucks that had...
The motor I had mentioned to Clinto looked super nice inside but I could never get it to start. I moved it up to Mikes farm and as far as I know, it's still there unless it floated away. I did see the can in Feb at the rally. Did you note my piece of wood on the can near the turbo? This...
Might be able to see a little in this video. I used a slave receptacle attached to the starter and a screw driver to jump it off. For fuel I used a jerry can with the suction and return line in a jerry can outside the can. Keep a piece of wood handy to block off the turbo in the event of a...
Ford truck rims 98 and older are 8 on 6 1/2. They will bolt right on and are 7" wide. I have these very rims and 255/85R16 tires on my M1010. Looks boss.
For what it's worth, I had an 84 1/2 ton with the 6.2. Had a horrendous droning noise at 65MPH. Found out that the mounts on the frame were just heavily sagged to the point that the clamshell was hitting the frame. Replacing them moved the engine up at least an inch. Food for thought!
