The truck makes it look like it's hardly anything, but that pile was about 4ft tall and the truck is about three feet up it. I barely even noticed it from the cab.

That sounds like a good plan. On the 105s we scrapped almost all of them had partially caved in beds, twisted frames and/ or major rust so reusing the beds and frames wouldn't have been practical. I've seen some dumpers made from the beds and they look really good but it just hasn't worked out...
