What did the problem end up being? Loose wire? Dirt in the switch?

The truck makes it look like it's hardly anything, but that pile was about 4ft tall and the truck is about three feet up it. I barely even noticed it from the cab.

Any progress on this?

That sounds like a good plan. On the 105s we scrapped almost all of them had partially caved in beds, twisted frames and/ or major rust so reusing the beds and frames wouldn't have been practical. I've seen some dumpers made from the beds and they look really good but it just hasn't worked out...

I checked tire pressures, cleaned the air filter today and tomorrow is bath day. It will also be getting two new front axle boots sometime soon. Another thing I noticed is that the rod that holds the passenger seat up seems bent a lot. Could someone post a picture of theirs so I can see if it's...

No problem. I've been following your thread and don't know how I missed the post yesterday, but the floor mat does not go under the passenger seat.

If you're talking about the two t-handle type brackets, they're for securing the windshield when folded down.

I doubt there are any military ones made to cover the bed and tongue, but a regular car cover with some bungee cords would probably work ok.
