Tan trucks get everything coated with the same color when painted at the depot level. They load the gun and spray, then on to the next one. The unit level may change things up a little bit.
Exactly what I found. It changes the end result, and not for the good. Check for 'play' before and after the lock nut is tightened. There should be a small amount.
Thanks for the heads-up Will!! When did they stop using the 'old' style, and would there be any way to identify by the engine number which ones it had? Would recent depot rebuilds maybe have the new style already? I'm sure there's no way to know, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks again for your digging!
I just went through this fixing a leaking rear hub. I dismantled, cleaned, put in all new seals, cork, (bearings were ok), used the red grease, and tightened things up. I left just a tiny bit of play in the bearing then tightened the outer spindle nut down and 'locked' it. Drove the truck 15...
Another option is to add the 'lollipop' lights to the marker lights and wire them to stay on full time and keep the markers as they are. This is what I did and it worked well. The lolli's lined up with the headlights too. Gives oncoming traffic a better idea of the overall vehicle width at...
I also would like to see the TM section revamped and made more user friendly. I have mentioned it in the past regarding the difficulty or moreso the slowness in navigating it. Not everyone knows the TM # they are looking for so when searching by title there is not much in the way of order. There...
Looking good! I like the idea of encapsulating the 105 front within the frame channels of the deuce. Once bent in and welded up, it will be 'strong like bull'. Keep the pics a'comin.
I have the same prob with a deuce. New batts, alternator, disconnected switches, breakers, whatever else I could think of, etc., still a drain, measures around 4 milli amps. Not much, but it's there. Could it be in the starter/solenoid?
[thumbzup] Nice job! 24087 w/ the white stenciling is my favorite look on a deuce.
And you really only used just 2 gallons of paint for the entire truck? Did you thin more than 2:1 and apply just one coat? I can just barely get 2 coats on everything except the inside of the cab and inside of...
Ditto on you 'will' want to drop the t-case. It won't need much, though. The shorter the shaft, the greater the angle, and blazers are short so do anything you can to extend u-joint life. I would recommend new u-joints and balancing the driveshaft too. The factory balance is fine for stock, but...
