RE: a bit of re-building and she is back on the road
Glad to meet another happy mule owner! Enjoy your new toy and drive it in parades often, veterans love tohse mules
Yes Chris, I have several practice rounds and 2 spent casings with original heads. I also have 2 rounds in the wooden box and the cardboard tubes. I am missing a site box.
Thanks Chris. This project has been a fun second job. The project is 98% done but ready to roll out at Gibert. This has been a fun project with a few bumps along the way. I have not removed the mule from the garage since the 106 has been installed since I do not need to hear any crap from...
I wrestled the 106 on to its mount last night. I have some touch up painting to do and need to mount the tool box under the bed and it should be good to go. I will post some more pictures tomorrow if all goes well tonite.
I made a purchase of 2 steel rails that are 8' long and not heavier than 1 man can lift. I will have the particulars in a few days. Any SS members able to help out?
Thanks
Nick
I located an NOS magazine well for the spotter rifle. The spotter rifle receiver was cut in half at the magazine well and half of the well was missing. I needed the new one inorder to piece the receiver back together at the proper legth for display purposes. After cutting and grinding to fit...
I hooked up with Mike at Murrays for a few hours as he picked up some parts from the yard and some new parts. I also picked up a winch cable for doghead as I will see him at Gilbert. Here are a few pictures from that day.
Not sure if I will change the tires to the wider ones. The tires in the picture are the next size down balloon tire and not the skinny tire that looks like a scaled down jeep tire.
Thanks Mike. I am not in a hurry to sell it as the garage will be available as long as I need it and the truck costs next to nothing to keep. The gun ring is a very pricy part and most likely would over price the truck with all the other stuff on it.
I amy be interested in selling my deuce. I am struggling with setting a reasonable price. Any input? This is not the run of the mill truck from GL! It is a great runner and has been well maintiained but I am finding myself focussing on a smaller fleet of vehicle, the mule. It has been the...
Kenny,
Beware of the project mule. The introductory "reasonable " price cascades into a money pit fast. This particular mule came from David Kelone and the price included all major parts to finish it up. David was very fair and reasonable with the included parts. The engine was not...
I have been working on a neglected mule I picked up at Aberdeen. it was a parts mule David had on the "hill". He was fair and honest on his evaluation and description before it was delivered to the show. Here are some before and after pictures. The motor was swapped out for an NOS motor...
