The key to good starting is sufficient cranking amps and rotational speed to get the compression ignition..Having good glow plug operation manual or by card is important too... It was 16 below zero here yesterday and my Cucv started on the second warming cycle of the GP Card..just one or two...
The 30 inch bar is solid and is the same as the one that goes in the regular Budd Nut wrench... It is infact a torque multiplier wrench... but not a torque wrench as most folks know them... I have the bar new for $10 US Marked... plus UPS...from 05822. RAM
Assuming you mean the multifuel deuce... There is a manifold heater... a little Diesel burning heater to warm the intake air for easier starting... activated by the spring loaded switch on lower left of dash...use of which is outlined in detail in the -10 RAM
Just add a pair of Armor headlights under the body in the rear and a manual switch like a convoy light switch to activate... put a 2 to 1 connector into the headlight switch harness then they will not activate unless headlights are on.. RAM
RE: Air system
As it was an Air Force truck, they may have spec'd a electric Air Pressure Gauge... loosen the 4 dzus fasteners and pull the instrument panel out a coupla inches and look at the back of your gauge....that should answer your question... RAM
The 900 series body has the taillights integrated... on the 800 they hang underneath... I had one just like that sans lift from the Mass NG Fort Devens a coupla years ago... RAM (Oh yeah.. it had 1100 rubber...not the Marine Corps super singles.. R)
The radio hookup live plug was there on the first coupla contracts of M35s in 1951 and 1952. Then it became a part of the radio kit and was eliminated in production. It is the same plug you find on the M38 A1 to the right of the passenger seat. RAM

Remember that the intake and exhaust sections should be loose to one another before tightening to head....The sleeves are used as part of the don't blow out the gasket package, too.... After everything is on and looking pretty... torque the manifolds to the head by spec and then tighten the...
