    Did you try to adjust the lash in the steering most steering gears have a jam nut with a screw in the center for adjusting the play in the steering although yours seem a bit excessive.

    Take the fitting off the top of the IP where the black return hose is attached if you get black residue out of it your pump is going bad.There is a plastic washer in there that starts to degrade and starts clogging the return line at the check valve.

    Yes it will all fit under the hood the whole body has been raised up three inches higher than a stock deuce.

    Push the starter button for ten or so seconds then go outside and feel if any of the grounds are hot or pretty warm thats usually the one that needs cleaning or retightening.

    Could have a bad injector loosen up a line on an injector and it will feel like a gas engine with a plug wire off.

    Heres a few more of the unfinished truck the mirrors, fenders, power steering hoses, wiring, exhaust and a few other minor things to do on it like weld in a rubber flap where the steering column goes through the inner fender to give it a more finished look and it will be on the road.
