Hm.
I tried gulfway before reading this thread. Said I wanted to use it to occaisionally haul some lumber, but mostly just for cruising around in. Not too often. Lady told me it was for parades and shows only.
Soooo... would someone in Texas who uses gulfway to insure their M35A2 mind...
ok, I think I figured it out.
I took the petcock off and cleaned it, lubed it a little, and then put it back on, closed. Then I fired up the engine and ran it until the system pressurized.
Then I went back down and turned the petcock valve and *whoosh* let the air out. So that works...
Yes, stupid question, I know, but I couldn't figure it out from the TM and none of the search results really talked about it here. It was hard to tell if the TM diagram was indicating a pitch motion or a yaw motion.
I tried twisting the little lever with the spring on the other end (pitch...
Got the truck today. Tried jumping off of mkcoen's blazer, but it tried to act like an arc welder...
so the yard guy gave us a push with his forklift and she started right up. Tactical pushstart!
When I got home, I let the truck sit for 5 minutes and tried starting her again and she started...
I'll try. Doesn't look like I'll be able to get the correct air filter by then, tho.
Is it something you can just take out and clean out with an air hose, if the engine isn't getting enough air?
I tried calling the site manager this afternoon but just missed him.
Assuming I can figure out what all supplies I need to bring and where to get them, I'm going to shoot for monday, tuesday, or wednesday of next week. Whatever day works best for you.
... back to the search engine...
The thing with the silver looking wire going through it? Looks kind of like a grease fitting, to me.
Really, that just looks like a jumble of parts, to me. Ach, stress. :-x
thanks mkcoen.
So I guess I'll plan on bringing a couple of 12V car batteries and just swapping them out.
Interesting that there's no slave outlet. I thought that was pretty much standard?
So here's what I was planning on bringing:
Two Batteries, 12V.
Ten gallons of diesel.
Four quarts...
hah, it's true. I even found myself looking at new m35a2s that were coming up for auction in san antonio. And I don't even have my first one, yet. Full blown military vehicle disease, for sure. Courtesy of Ironhorse.
Friend in my church just gave me a 300 and a 500 gal tank, both with about a 8 or 10 ft stand.
I'm guessing they'll work. I'll post some pics a bit later.
If my truck runs, I'll bet we could load em up and take em either to mkcoen's place or mine. Beer money is cool. Actual beer would be better, tho. South Texas doesn't have much selection.
mkcoen: Which paperwork?
event 4107, lot 7100. Olive drab, with winch. No cab top.
There was another truck in the same event that looked like it had a busted axle or suspension linkage or something.
Hey guys, I just got my EUC back approved for my deuce. But reading the "great list" thread on the old board has my head swimming.
Would one of ya'll be willing to meet me in San Antonio and head over to Fort Sam to check out my truck and help me do the initial "get her running safely"...
Great replies, guys.
So what rated flow rate should I look for in a pump that would be adequate for both transfer and filtration?
Oh, I also looked through the Northern Tool catalog and found a PTO pump. Would that be compatible with the M35A2 PTO?
