I'm still concerned with the sudden lack of cranking and the CTIS overspeed lamp with the truck not running is just WEIRD.
If the tanks are low then the alarm is normal but OP is talking like he's never heard the alarm buzzer before so all of this is confusing from my vantage point here at...
I don't think the CTIS is capable of operating the low air buzzer...... That's my point. If you have an audible alarm above 95 psi, and a CTIS overspeed warning light with the truck not even running let alone not traveling over 62 mph AND you have a no-crank situation then in my estimation you...
You say there is an "alarm" going off like it's an audible alarm? That's the low air pressure buzzer or troop alarm if this is a cargo with the troop alarm intact.
Has NOTHING to do with the CTIS.
And the alarm / CTIS issues are not related to a no-crank.
You have three distinct issues.
1...
Yep. The only thing I would add is that it is MUCH easier with a slide hammer bead breaker:

Yes get it transported. Those tires WILL KILL. You will also find that you will probably get the finger from most "truck tire" shops. They want NOTHING to do with what they perceive as a "split rim" and will likely have nothing whatsoever to do with you or the truck.
They are actually more...
Want to see this "bill of sale" - guessing it's the DLA demil information with original acquisition price and demil codes and all that? Those are from the DLA auction side after they leave service. Unless it's something else I haven't seen before..... Pics?
The CTIS sub harness wiring is probably boned. Look for green crusty corrosion on the various connectors. And ABS light may in fact be related as the CTIS wiring could be taking down the communication busses which will piss off the ABS module. Check for shorts to power and ground and other wires...
That's true though I have seen electrostatic furnace filter elements (the metal mesh panels) catch fire when neglected and I have not seen such behavior from the paper panel filters.
So trade offs again. But you're right there are serviceable options. How much is the soap and water and labor...
These guys have a listing for them with all the part numbers:

So the problem is - worse on the later trucks where the compressor is fed inlet air from the intake manifold at boost pressure (25+ psi) - is that if it punches a hole in a piston (which I have seen twice now so mine was not an outlier) then the exhaust valve becomes the hole in the piston and...
It means you have leaks and restrictions and need to rebuild all your wheel valves and your PCU and probably the pressure protection valve and a whole bunch of check valves and other junk in the air system.
It takes so long to fault because the system has to go through like 10 inflate and...
Yup. I said it before and I'll say it again - there's two types of FMTV owners - those with broken air compressor exhaust valve springs that know about it, and those with broken exhaust valve springs that they don't yet know about. They exist in no other possible configuration until and unless...
Definitely not. If it hasn't already, it could punch a hole in one of the compressor pistons. Which will cause it to pressurize the crankcase and blow out every seal in the engine. That's how mine died on the way home from TX with my truck. Fortunately I made it here and the compressor died a...
That's the exhaust valve spring(s) from your compressor. Welcome to FMTV air compressor foolishness. Here is the thread Ronmar mentioned:

So my AIH (Air Intake Heater) system had a total meltdown all on it's own and I found some interesting stuff.
The root cause, was the busbar between the two halves of the grid heater. It runs along the bottom and 17 years, 25k miles, plus dry desert conditions (Kuwait, El-Paso, Houston till...
There was a time when I would bother with cleaning and baking media, etc to save a buck and part of me appreciates that level of maintainability with seemingly cheap and reusable media, etc. I'm that guy that will make a part on my lathe just to say I did and I won't make another because "you...
Nope. I've done that hundreds of times and never had an issue. Go get some new cores I guess. Could be a defective valve stem I guess. Have to dismount the tire to replace that.
