Can anyone assist me in picking up 2 6.2 diesel engines from redstone armory? I live in Atlanta and will gladly reimburse someone to help me get them from there to here. Thanks
I used the 383 substitute from rapcoparts.com. I ordered two gallons of it, only used one. I used a 3 to 1 ratio, reducing it with xylene. I sprayed it on with a HVLP gravity fed gun
Do you need someone to go look at the blazer before you make the trip up? I live in the Atlanta area and would be more than happy to go take a look at if for you and take some pictures of it.
I figured I'd share my updated pics of my newly painted 1009. I painted it myself in a friends driveway, first time ever painted a vehicle. Turned out better than I thought it would. (the pics aren't the greatest, the green shows shadowed on the a couple pics, looks much better in person!)
How much for everything? Also what condition is it in? send me an im or email (galeo7171@gmail.com). I'm up in Cumming so driving to Rockmart isn't too bad at all
I've been experiencing a loud banging noise going to down road at certain speeds. I've also noticed that when I shift the blazer into neutral the noise gets worse. I changed the ujoints and that didn't help. We've traced the noise and it seems to be coming from the rear end. Its a very loud...
When I go into to NAPA in the morning to buy new 2 new ujoints for the rear driveshaft, and a new rear pinion bearing, do I need to get 1/2 ton parts or 3/4 ton parts for the M1009?
What exactly does shaking the pinion around? I pushed up and down on the rear driveshaft near the rear ujoint and noticed that the ujoint itselft would move up and down and I could hear a clicking noise. When i twisted the driveshaft left to right it would move around 2-3 inches...so this...
I'm trying to track down the loud noise coming from the rear of my truck. At certain speeds I can hear a continous loud metal on metal knocking noise. It sounds like somene is taking my tow hooks and banging them against my bumper. It seems to be worse if I put it in neutral and coast down the...
mine was the same way. What I did is took it to the line-x dealership where he sanded it down, formed the channel with metal tape then sprayed linex over it. You can't even tell where it did the tape! It looks great and was much cheaper and easier than replacement panels!
I've got all the paint, reducer, filters, etc etc etc....what I don't have is the paint gun! Any suggestions on what to use? cannister, siphon fed, hvlp, ? nozzle size, what type of in line water filter, regulator? I'm totally a noob when it comes to this!
I'm thinking that my fuel filter base is leaking, so I'm going to order one from oem surplus. I think I read on here that I need to also buy a fuel pressure switch? Where would I get one of these at? anything else I need to pick up?
I swear one day I'll get this all sorted out. If my 1009 sits overnight it takes a little effort to start it first thing in the morning. It turns over and after about 3-4 tries it will fire up, and blow white/grey smoke out the tail pipes. Now, I'll drive to work, let it sit there for 12...
Update: I changed the filter and the power is back to normal, but when I let it sit overnight, it still had a spot of diesel about the size of a basketball underneath the truck, right under the bellhousing. Its hard to start after it sits overnight, but once you get it running you can shut it...
I drove the 1009 to work this morning, ran fine. Parked the truck in the parking lot. It was parked on a slight incline, nose down. About 8 hours later, I notice a puddle of diesel fuel underneath the truck, I know for a fact that it didn't start leaking utnil at least 8 hours after I parked...
