Just Look at what is between the latch and the door material. It is the plate that is always there. It is steel, but some have added shims. They are the same shape. I have seen them be about twice as thick as the first plate. I have cut them out of aluminum when I needed some.
You have to shim the door latch away from the door to make it easier to close your doors to the second click. Most people unknowingly drive around with the doors only on the first click of the latches.
That ground stud and nut are supposed to be made of Copper so they are weaker than hardened steel hardware. Lots of lubricant and loosening a turn then tightening back half a turn repeatedly with lots of flushing with lubricant might have saved you.
Your fuel injectors are calibrated to work with your injection pump so just be happy with what you have. If General Motors could have made more reliable power out of this mechanical system, it makes sense that they would have. The new diesels use Electrically controlled injectors and precise...
You can do that, but then you will still have all the smallest U joints that were ever fitted to the Humvee. When they went to the four speed trans, the U joints were replaced with the larger ones, even at the diffs.
You might have a stuck glass check valve in the return fuel nipple that is located at the top front of the Injector Pump. When it gets stuck it can cause the problem that you are having. It may be getting stuck with dry rotted bits of the rubber return fuel hoses or maybe just stuck. You can...
From Memory, you put the trans in neutral and fully depress the throttle so the linkage activates the switch that is on the right hand side of an early Injector Pump. Once that is done, the Time Delay Module should stop fluid pressure for the fan at the "Cadallic" Valve for a short period of...
There is a small bushing that is located between the horn button electrical connection and the wire connection that exits through the steering column shaft. If it is not there, your horn will not work.
On the early Humvees, the diff output seals can not be removed without removing the diff, because the brackets that the diff is bolted to on each side shroud the seals. Later Humvees and Hummers got revised brackets that allowed for seal removal while the diff was still in the vehicle.
Probably no one who is still looking at Humvee sites. The ones who bought a Humvee for the prestige of having something of limited availability have most likely already sold theirs. I remember a couple of people crying about that very thing. Boo Hoo Hoo.
Good riddance to them as they were...
From the looks of the fotos, I think a full width or near full width front bumper on the Humvee might have kept the right front tire from climbing/grabbing the guard rail and causing the roll over. The vehicle might have just spun out after the impact or maybe still rolled over, but it would...
That video was made by someone wanting to sell their super duper roof system. It shows a Humvee with a civilian four man hard top improperly installed. Actually it is half assed into place. The windshield is a soft top windshield, the b pillar is a soft top b pillar and the c pillar is a soft...
Make sure you have the shifter in neutral. I made a switch for myself with a switch that I got off of Amazon.com for about $12 delivered. Figured out the wires.
11A 24 volt battery
29A Run
14A Start
My switch also had an acc postion too.
Put it in and then tried to start it and no...
