Not TOO far off topic, I hope, but does anyone have any experience with this stuff:
ZDDPLUS7176 Zinc/Phosphorous Additive for Oil Concentrate
I have noticed the plain HD Diesel 15w-40 oil is getting harder to find. I’ve stashed 20 gallons of it as I’ve found it at Tractor supply and through...
Sounds like a solid plan. I plan on moving my HMMWV down to our farm in Tennessee in a couple years, looking for a 3-point hitch adapter so’s I can pull a disc harrow and/or 3-bladed plow. Neighbor and I got to talking about it, he thinks we can just fabricate one from parts he’s got on hand...
THAT bulkhead's getting pretty pricey. I picked one up recently - about $250. The brackets? Another $200 but I'm fabricating a set using 2" ID aluminum C-channel instead. The nuts and bolts I think I got from macmotors.com when I ordered some other stuff.
Start with the parts manual...
Thanks. Figure the foam would fit (4x8 sheet), would put the plywood DOWN to reduce wear against the bows, not trap moisture between cover and foam which might happen anyway.
Looked at the one piece selling on epay so I have an idea how the military had them made. don’t think I need the...
Doesn't seem to. I reconnected mine randomly. It's 50-50 it'd work. It did.
Make the access hole fix before you reinstall your tank if you haven't already.
Figure the only "signal" the sender unit give is resistance, shouldn't matter or the engineers would've polarized the fittings.

Have trailer, bows, new cover, no panels NSN 2510-01-522-2107 ( -09, -10).
Thinking this would be easy to fabricate with 1/2" blue poly foam insulation panel and maybe 1/8" plywood/wood paneling as a single sheet.
Not crazy about drilling holes in bows, but will worry about that later, maybe...
Had this problem with my HMMWV, turned out to be MECHANICAL, the plastic bushings in the motor-pivot linkages broke down more on one side than the other.
Sounds like everyone's addressed the electrical possibilities already, just thought I'd throw this out there.

I lived in San Diego then Pomona Valley for 8 years (longer up in Monterey). Defrosters come in handy even though "heat" isn't as useful as AC.
Anyway, Kascar has 'em, you can find them on the evil auction site, too. Probably Napa if you do part # interchange search.
Start with the parts manual.
Looking forward to all this.
Heat I can stand. Don‘t want the extra trouble/hdwr for AC anyway.
Been thinking about adding something like this:
http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/70611/10002/-1
to the back seat area (just forward of the bulkhead), trying to figure out...
Silent movie?
I just put on the gold-pressing of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and the broken half-shaft synchs up with “Money.”
Go figure.
I changed the rubber/rear brake hoses. ALMOST bought new lines, I was having such a hard time getting the 3/8” fittings loose. I took a MAPP gas torch to ‘em for ten seconds or so. Came loose right away. Hoses were cracked, several coats of paint on them. Steel lines are actually in very...
Sintorian. One question, and it's based on how I read what other people write. I worked for several years as a research review/human use committee chairman and had to read upwards of a dozen research proposals a week. People don't always write exactly what they mean.
Ref:

Turn steering...
Which ones, exactly? Looked this up on Napaonline and there's like three of 'em.
[edit]
My mistake... they're listed funny.
Two listings are identical, listed twice, $22, then there's sets with pads for $58.
All remanufactured.
You’re welcome.
Besides the “NO ETHER IN HMMWVS” rule, another tip/practice you should adhere to is:
Disconnect battery ground before doing ANY electrical work.
That - very pricey - S3 box hates stray current and seems to self-immolate at the first opportunity, or at least its predecessors...
No kidding, and a few milligrams to grams of flesh.
Couldn’t figure out where the drops of blood were coming from today until I washed my hands really well and felt the sting. No clue how or what got me, but I’ve got skin and blood all over that truck.
Thinking of nicknaming it “Cyborg.”
