Try this. Go to your favorite search engine and do a search of images using these terms and see if one or more look the same. M543A2, M816, M62 and M60. All of these have rear drag winches as well as a front winch and boom hoist. I'd wager it's likely one of these.

Sucks to hear this Clinto but you are pretty close to resources and great people. I've always loved that stretch of I-71. As far as the trailer, a spindle will likely be a weld on. Might be most expedient to do like Ferro and Portajohn did, get bearings and maybe a hub and grind the spindle...
Any reasonably rebuilt 700R4 can handle all the power the 6.2 makes even in a heavy truck. I feel that the 700 gearing is an excellent match for the anemic 6.2.
