I like it, but it would look too small behind my 2500HD
I bet he used 20 sawzaw blades to cut it.
I would have borrowed a plasma cutter and used a steel straight edge.
Are you planning to mount the tailgate different?
If you keep it the same, it will add two more feed of length to dump.
Looks good so far, keep the pictures coming.
Very nice pintle / plug set up you made.
Looks like a nice condition trailer. Will you be painting the truck or trailer to match?
Too bad it does not have the metric FORD bolt pattern then all would match.
What are your plans? keep it the same or customize?
PS: That lunette ring looks tight in...
Great job!
The Alaskan camper looks at home in the 101.
The hitch looks like a nice change too!
This is my future plan for my trailer.
I wanted a roof top tent but they are expensive.
I can build this set up for less.

M101A1 rebuild as a custom
I bought a M101A2 off ebay and it is a great little trailer.
I would rebuild it as a matching trailer to your FJ.
A new axle with matching bolt pattern to your FJ.
Matching paint and custom extras for off road camping.
Here is my build blog...

Very nice work on the trailer, It looks very proportioned to the truck.
How much does it stick out side to side?
Can you feel it back there?
Did you go with electric brakes?
Is a white paint job in the future?
One more mod you need to do to make it more road friendly.

I've got GAS!
Part I
I bought a five pound Manchester propane tank.
I searched for a mount to hang it on the front of my M101A2. it seemed everything I wanted except one required extra items to satisfy my need.
I measured that tank dementions and came out with this design.
it is bent from 2...
I will post more pictures of the counter.
The stove came from a garage clean out, I replumed it and use it with the 5# propane tank.
I actually used the stove for several months while doing a kitchen renovation at my home.
It is rusty in the picture but I rub it down with stove black and it...
A place to cook
I made a cooking counter that mounts in the receivers to hold my
vintage Griswold three burner stove. It is held up with aluminum angle slid in the tubes the cook shelf is aluminum diamond plate with a 2" lip welded around the edge. Works well and looks good.
I mounted a hood...
I was watching the news last night and Pennsylvania wants to raise the DMV fees and gas tax to raise money for the crappy roads and bridges needing repair.
Nothing like waiting until everything needs repaired to start.
We already pay too much for registration.
I mounted my plate on the frame cross member,
I don't tilt the trailer, so it will not get damaged.
The gate opens full against the shackle stops and does not hit the plate.
I have towed it over 1500 miles and it works fine.
It does not get blocked when my bike rack is in the receiver.
I should...
That is a good idea!
I was worried that I would get rear ended by a texting teen prius driver,
So I went with large stake body taillights and removed the triangular brace so I could mount the taillights closer to the rear.
Man if you were only a couple months sooner,
I replaced mine with cables and threw the chains and protectors out.
I would have listed them on the classified forum but there is a 100 post rule.
