group,
is there a way of telling what the winning bid on a sealed bid auction is?
I bid on several sealed bid auctions and lost. I am trying to determine a fair price to bid next time the items come up.
Thanks

Group,
I was driving N/B Sierra Highway, from Pearblossom Highway and saw 2 Deuces and an M105 trailer parked in a fenced lot. Do these belong to a form member?
Thanks

Group,
I woke up early to place bids at the last minute on several things, and noticed that the days were changed. I thought I had just made a mistake on closing dates. I also noticed that all the items I was looking at were higher then I wanted to pay.
early this week they pulled 5-10...
Lonsome715,
Unless you buy new, the chances of getting the same items are slim. Each different item would require engineering changes to make work properly.
My segustion would be to purchase one old motorhome, dismantle it. Then do a proof of concept. Once you have proven your idea, then...
Lonsome715,
If you look in your local area, you can probably find an old RV cheap. Probably cheaper then buying parts individually. I know a guy locally who bought a complete RV for $250.00. The Onan generator inside the RV was worth more then he paid for the whole thing.
Good Luck

speddmon,
I do not know what year or model the military started flashing the fields automatically(through the start switch). When I went through AF Power Production school last year they said that the avg military generator would sit long enough to need to have the field flashed.
Even on...
dieselfuelonly,
I would recommend that you get a trailer first, since you already have a truck. The trailer will be more versitle for your business. If the truck breaks, you can always barrow or rent anouther truck. If you count on the truck instead of the trailer, you then need to rent a...
Group,
How long it takes to get back to pick up the truck, will deprnd on how much it cost. I would have to save enough money to cover expenses for a return tripp. I would also look at what it would cost to have it delivered.
It would be nice to find one on the west coast (prefer S CA), but...
Group,
I am looking at purchasing a 5 ton at the Lansing mi sale. Is there anyone locally who can reterive and store it until I can get a chance to get back and pick it up. I live in CA about 50 miles from Barstow.
Thanks
Michael,
I also have not been able to get into Logsa for the last couple of weeks.
Shootiniron,
Most places are selling copies of the same government issued CD's. As was said in an earlier post, most of the info is readily available from other sources for free. If you would like to throw...
Sir,
You probably need to flash the field to get it generating. Look in the manusl you, and they should have instrucions for flashing the field.
Later military generators, automaticaly flash the field when they start to prevent this problem.
As mentioned in earlier post, the 400 HZ...
Group,
The starter needs to be 24 V, for the cranking torqe to overcome compression. By running a 24V system, you drop one component of failure (24V - 12 volt system) and also helps save batteries. THe old desiel cars/small trucks started on 24 V, then went to 12V for normal ops.
As...
GT1009,
To add to the previous post.
Cut the line where the hole is, put new fittings on each side, then use a union to reconnect the line. If the line is too short, buy a short section of line at any auto parts store to replace the missing section.
You could use compression fittings or...
vtdeucedriver,
Nice N3N. I also prefer the N3n or Stearman to the PT-19, but I bought what I could afford at the time. I have been collecting parts for Stearman with hopes of one day building one.
I have also been following N3N's and Know where three N3N's sitting. I have been asking about...
StrykerPez,
I plan to restore her, and use her to haul jet fuel. There is a local airport where they work on Jets. When they defuel the jets the fuel is hazardes waste and needs to be hauled out. I would like to get lisenced to haul this fuel, then call my freinds with jets to come fly for...
Frodobaggins,
If you and I were at the same auction, we would probably drive the price up as we bid against each other with anticipation of our new toys!
Laterrrr
Avn-Tech
Bill,
I have not been to the shop you are talking about, but my dad found it when he was brining home one of my PT-19 projects.
Warthog,
With enough creativity anything is possable. (I used to work on A-10's).
CT Mustang,
The question is how much power would be required to make these fly...
NDT,
I have not had much time to look at the tanker yet, but it would make sense that it has the big V-6 dump truck engine in it. I have looked in the tank and it is in good shape with no crud or corrosian (ready for fuel). (4000 gal X $5.00 gal, is beyound my calculations and budget)
I have...
