Having rebuilt a TH400, its not as bad as you think. Just take your time and be very careful of the seals.

Thats why I heavily mod'd my old western setup that I sold this fall. And... why I now use a Fisher Minute Mount. With the MM, I can even leave the shackles on when I hook up the plow.

The problem is, not everyone uses the good conversion instructions.... and not everyone does it exact to the instructions. I can tell you how to troubleshoot almost everything in a CUCV off the top of my head... If you mess with it, and change it... I cant help. Sorry, but thats the way it...

That is not true. Look a the schematics... there is a lot different. It is not just an 'add-on'. The gauge panel is wired different, under the hood is all different. The glow plug wiring is different, even the headlight system is wired different.

If they are measuring 12v output, with respect to the case as ground, the are NOT isolated.

Its no different than any mid-80's chevy truck.

What year was your civvy truck? I know on the fisher setup, it specifically tells you to drill out the 1/2 hole where the bumper mounts, to a 5/8
