The 3 1/2" pipe sounds like the parts that connect to the kitchen hookup inbetween two of the water faucets on one side. I may have the old manifold valve for sale once I replace it with a new one that i bought a while back but it will need new O-rings for sure.
I took a few photos of the big cable that is used for the CUCV. I think there's a part number for the cable which I captured via macro mode. I also wanted to thank Mutt1966 for the comeback with the idle RPM - I think I'll leave mine the way it is for now because it fluctuated between 628 & 629...
Mutt1966 that's the kind of info I need! I was wondering if the idle speed was about right or too slow. Once I get the truck out on the highway and get up to speed I'll get RPM readings to see if there's accuracy with this thing. I almost want to leave it hooked up permanently just to have a...
Just tested the other VTM box and it works! Definitely happy about this because i want to see what RPM I will be at while hitting 55 MPH and above. First photo shows the RPM reading at idle - not sure if it was fast-idle at the time. When i revved the motor the readout indecated higher so I know...
My set was complete but like I said, I could not get it to work. Even tried it on a friend's M1009 with the same results. Today I will try the other box to see if it will give me something other than an error message.
I bought one several years ago and tried several times to punch in the code for the CUCV using the port connection under the dash. Never coulld get the thing to show me anything but an error message. I did but another meter pretty cheap from a surplus web site and need to try that one out to...
I just use the stock fuel filter setup that came with the truck. Eventually I may convert mine to burn WVO and then things will need to change at that point in time. Looks like a lot of us will need to convert to alternate fuels the way diesel is heading this summer! Love to see your filter...
I only know that this works for me. Once the I.P. is primed I shut the electric pump off and the fuel just flows through it from the mechanical pump. Not sure how long this pump will last because if is a vintage pump but was never used. If I have to I will swap over to a 24 volt pump (I have...
Yes it is - normally "off". When I first get into the truck I flip the switch and wait for the pump's clicking to slow or almost stop before turning the starter. Practically everything for starting this truck is "manual" including the glow plug circuit that I use a momentary switch to...
Seems to start a lot quicker now after sitting for several days. I had to install it where I could get to it for maintenance because I have problems with positional vertigo now. This also makes changing the fuel filter a breeze too. I turn the pump off once the IP is primed and ready. This...
Welcome to the site! I need to move up your way because West Melbourne is not what it used to be. I love the Eglin AFB area and should have retired there after my military career finished up in 1989.
I made the mistake of not covering up the solar panel on one of my solargizers while I had the batteries removed for one reason or the other. I think it destroyed the little box with the LED light in it - basically that's the brain of the unit. Would I be right in assuming I damaged the...
I have always wanted one of those ever since I saw a movie with Charlton Heston driving one that had a light bar on top but they all need power steering and a more powerful motor. I had an M37 that was harder to steer than an M35A2! The price on the one here in Florida is very reasonable.
WC-57 for sale for $24K in Palm City Florida
It's on Craig's List in the Treasure Coast area of Craig's List. Really looks nice for the price considering the age of the vehicle and the mileage (41,390). Sorry i cannopt post the link to the vehicle because it is "against the rules".
M149a2
I'm the guy in Florida with the thread on the M149A2 manifold valve. Click on my user name and the "find threads started by aboonski" and you will find the posts that i made with photos, etc. I still need to sanitize mine and it will be fully functional. If I could find another tank I...
Sorry I am getting back to you so late in the game but I don't check the site that often. I took some measurements from parts that I have for my second M149A2 which I plan to acquire a tank for (eventually). The pipe looks to be "red brass" or copper. Posting photos of the parts so you can make...
We had one of those at Patrick Air Force Base Hospital. It brings back a lot of memories when I see this vehicle. I drove one like it during a mass casualty situation in Cocoa Beach when a condominium under construction collapsed killing 11 workers (Harbor Cay Condominium). I was one of the...
Thanks Papercu! I have never seen a tank like the one that I have on this trailer, which is by the way an M149A2 trailer (according to the data plate). I can't figure out the outlet being aluminum and also not having a threaded area to screw the manifold valve into. It came with a large...
