You may have opened a bigger can of worms than you think. It may still belong to the Gov't. If it was a lend leasento the other dept, might not be eligible for a sale.
I scrapped mine. They are heavier than a barge load of anvils. I did save the pallet that slides on the rails in the bed. A nice Miller Trailblazer would be a better choice. Let me know if you get serious, I'll send pics.
If all else fails, I have a bed on my truck. Have troop seats or the steel topper as well. There will likely be a wrecker at the rally if you want to wait.
That looks like it worked perfectly. I'll take a half dozen 2x4s and a couple of 4x4s on every recovery. It's nothing short of amazing the things you can do with dunnage.
For a few hundred dollars and a few hours of quality time with your truck, you can alleviate all the problems and cruise at 70 again. While I like 4BT swaps, you have an easy fix on your hands vs re-engineering a truck.
