I have 2 IP's apart now for cleaning and see no signs of problems in them.
I Also have an 002a with a good IP on it that I can't get to fire with pop-tested injectors. Flywheel is so badly rusted I can't see PC marks, even after spraying with phosphoric acid. What are my options for timing...
Stan,
I printed the portion of the TM dealing with the ASK and got it off today. Nothing like reading instructions! So many hidden fasteners! No fuel through the injection pump, so will tackle that tomorrow.

Hey Stan,
Got 4 of 5 of the winnings started today! 2 are flawless but ugly and load tested over 100%. 2 have minor issues and haven't load tested them yet. One is in an ASK (first one I've had in that configuration) and half of the ASK fasteners are spinning freely but won't come out. Don't...
Wish I had seen this chart a few weeks ago. I bought a Rockwell 10" uni-saw off GL with no specs other than a picture of the plug (which I interpreted as a
NEMA 14-30
Turned out to be a
NEMA 18-30
Now I have a working 3-phase saw and...
I'm not sure what they do on a "rebuild" anyway, other than let chemicals eat off the paint, take your fittings (or the other guy's), clean the unit, and take the button (so they can sell it, and the fittings, back to you). i presume they pressure test them but the one rebuild I've seen ran no...
I guess what I meant to ask is whether you could return Delk's unit unused and pay them to rebuild your core, assuming they do that. that way you know your button should work. On the pumps I pull and clean for sale, I keep the button with it. I wonder why they don't, unless its a chance to...
Patracy,
I don't know. Keith put up a link to a supplier of the copper gasket for the glow plugs.
I have made a practice of removing the injector body from the ribbed heat sink and wet sanding the sealing face of the aluminum heat sink, then doing the same thing to the metal-fiber gasket...
On your injector, if you remove the injector body from the heat sink, there
is a thick copper washer in there. That is in addition to the fiber one between the heat sink and the block.
There are two seals per injector. When you remove the injector from the ribbed aluminum heat sink, you will find a copper ring on the injector body or in the base (hole) in the heat sink. this is easily smoothed with wet sand paper. The other gasket is the one at the bottom of the big hole...
Stan,
Not offended at all. I would have given them to you when you were here, had I known you needed them. I have several heads but haven't listed them. Pat will send you the recipe.
