    CUCV consumables part numbers

I think they have that covered already. Many just choose their own recipe for the ingredients.

    M1009 - Fuel delivery problem?

Of course making sure it has no gas in it. Or maybe so if it has 2 cycle oil in it. LOL Honestly I think you have a few issues playing into it. 1 the tank should be dropped and replaced sounds like a good idea. The fuel pick up sock can be replaced or eliminated. I have heard people say no need...

    M1009 - Fuel delivery problem?

If you don't like hard work you bought the wrong 30 year old vehicle. May I recommend you drop the rear tank and skid plate and change the fuel sock and look inside the fuel tank real good. replace all the rubber hoses and then give it a try again. If it still runs poorly the next thing is a...

    Heater Vent Control

That BLUE piece on the end of the cable clips into the heater control switch. But before you do that the cables and switch need to be removed and lubed with oil and grease. No spray lube. May as well not bother using spray lubes. Unless you have a good cable and chain lube. But best results are...

Get a spot weld cutter bit. You can buy cheaper but you get what you pay for. Weld the little holes and attach the new...

    Tail Pan Replacement

That is why I wear ear plugs and a welding helmet. I welded on the assembly line for 4 years. Used to go thru a 40lb roll of .045 mig wire everyday. I welded bumpers and hitches on a creeper. Welding that tin is easy with a little mig. Getting the factory spot welds out that's a different story...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

I spent the past 2 days painting wheels and reassembling the front axle. Besides working full days at my regular job. Started on Friday where I left off. I painted the bottom inside of all 11 wheels. Left them set till about 1 today when I came home from work and hit them on the face topside...

Spots of fluid on my tailgate

I am guessing transmission over flow/breather tube or transfer case out put seal 9449 national seal. It could also be the yoke at the slip joint on the rear driveshaft. Check it out and report back. I doubt brake fluid going up on the tailgate.

    Tail Pan Replacement

Rear cross member is spot weld and welded. You will play tough getting that out. But if you sand/grind the bed floor at the rear it is possible you could find the spot welds and drill them out. Good Luck. I had a few really nice bed floors. Sold them all now.

CUCV Snow Plow Trucks and Spreaders

Voodoo M1009 Back on the job a short time and back in the shop. That engine deal was not a deal at all. That HMMWV engine was put in that can for a reason. No need to get excited and point fingers at anyone. I of all people should have known better. It all worked out. I was refunded and still...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

Tonight when I came home I had a busy schedule. It may not look like much got done. But I scuffed the wheels, blew them off, washed them and set them out so they could be sealed. I managed to get both sides sealed and that was about the extent of the evening. That was a slacking off evening. So...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

The fan is supposed to be keeping the wheels from sweating and dry. No problem with the filler drying. I don't use BONDO. I use Rage it is a much better product and sands and finishes much better. But what do I know? The barn is dry but humidity will rust sandblasted steel. I could see my finger...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

I have 2 of the 3 doors ready for primer. The third door will be ready in a couple days. I still have the windshield pinch weld to do some work on. Complete the right side spindle, backing plate assembly. A little at a time. I feel like the only one posting. Another night of rain. It never...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

I picked up 11 M1009 wheels at the sandblaster today. I did not trust painting them outside today. It looked like rain. I will have to do something real soon. I have the fan on them. The drivers door is fixed. It still needs finish putty but it is a very nice door. The edge was damaged a bit...

Proper Floor pans for the M1009

I wouldn't go back as far as the lower radius. I would piece it in up to that point and grind and finish it even as nice as possible. I would have the entire floor LineXed and it would hardly be visible. I agree they are hard to find and the are going to get worse as time goes on. More and more...

1986 CUCV M1009 Decade after being wrecked.

No joy today as far as progress on my project. I woke to pouring rain and the water was in the basement again. Handled that and went outside to do some clean up work. Bad day if you were a 67 Mustang at my place. Never was going to get it done and was missing a lot of parts. Over 30 tire kickers...

Proper Floor pans for the M1009

Find a K5 in a scrap yard and cut the floors out. I have a parts M1009. Not sure if the floor is perfect but it is in Pennsylvania. You could also make your own floor. I mean if it fits and does the job all is well. I never seen a perfect match on the Taiwan replacement parts. I just cut up a...

Sorry to report. Mosoon seasonagain. It will not let up. I can not work with high wind and rain blowing in on my project. It is to hot and humid with the doors shut. So horizontal therapy again. 50% of the grass cut and it began. Oh well. Maybe next time.
