I've always heard that when giving the 6.2 some ether just squirt it near the intake, not actually into it. Just enough so the engine thinks its getting some and then crank. Sorry to hear that yours grenaded on you.
I am in the crowd of haven't done it.....yet. That being said I look at the cable I'm grabbing and don't "yank" it out. Both of my cables move smoothly so I can pull them out very easily. I have seen some deuces where you want a hammer to pound on the handles to make the cables move...
Lots of extra weight due to extra armor and it might not be able to go through the sand very well. Even with a functional CTIS there is only soo much flotation and so much power available.
How much power do you think a fan actually pulls? Granted I'm sure it affects mileage some but will changing the setup get you the increase you are after?
The only way I can think of oil staying clean is if the block was flushed to remove all of the contamination that is hiding in it after oil is drained. I don't know how quickly a MF would dirty up oil, but can't imagine a change would let it be clean.
I did say in my post "nothing major". I was pointing out that your post about the MF not being in OTR trucks was pointless. You can argue back and forth about MF vs CAT all you want....apples and oranges. I do have to ask as you avatar doesn't state: have you ever seen, driven, or even been...
What's your point????? OTR trucks have no need or reason for MF capability. Remember, stuff made back in the 50's and 60's were designed to be simple and easily repaired (nothing major of course) onsite by the soldiers with the equipment. Go throw a 3116 in it, have a break down and see if...
A question comes to mind when you say smoking at idle? Are you letting it sit at idle for a long time and then rev it up causing smoke? If so then I would call it normal...part of the multi-fuel engine design (wet cylinders I believe is a term I've heard before). I've bypassed my FDC but did...
How do you turn up the fuel pump on the thing? I'm sure that it has a FDC of some sort, can it be bypassed. Where do I install the pyro and boost gauge at and what models should I use?
How can I get a 12V alternator mounted to this to run all of my accessories and where can I mount the extra batteries? I don't want a converter as it would be too easy.
What kind of comfy seats will fit in this thing? I don't like the original ones.
Can I find a smaller steering wheel (T-Bar) for this, my gut hits on it...don't know how the guys in the service fit in these.
