My cat dealer had samples of all major filter brands cut open along with CAT filter. If this was legitimate, the CAT filter appeared to be significantly better. Who knows? The price I paid for CAT filters (oil and fuel) wasn't that bad. I went to a CAT offroad dealer and the filters had to...
I already got a cabin reserved this year - reserved it early as I knew they would go fast. I know last year some cabins became available at the last minute when some cancellations came it. Probably worth while calling them every once in a while if someone still wants a cabin.
The 545 is not a lock-up transmission and the 1545 is a lock-up transmission. Should be more economical to run, but I have no idea about the difference in reliability between the two. Mine is a 1545P.
I attached another Allison document regarding Dexron III and TranSynd dated April 2002.
I called the Allison Technical Assistance Center at 800-252-2583. I have to warn you if you call them that I almost had to argue to get to talk to someone and I got transferred several times. It was an effort to obtain that telephone number.
Dexron III and all other Dexrons are a trademark of General Motors. Any petrolium company that wanted to market transmission fluid that complied with the GM standard for Dexron III had to pay GM a royalty to use the Dexron III name. GM has now rescinded the standard for Dexron III so no company...
The 34787s went right in on my truck without difficulty. I've never experienced any bottoming, even offroading. I live on 32 acres of extremely rough land in the mountains and most of my driving is offroad. I replaced my shocks because my front tires were wearing badly, especially the...
There is also normally a small yellow sticker on a truck, or anything else for that matter, that came from GL that has the original acquisition cost. Both of my deuces had it on a headlight.
The solvents are most likely not an issue. It's what is dissolved or suspended in the solvents that would bother me. I personally wouldn't touch it. It could end up being some expensive fuel.
They do a great job. However, I know a guy that soda blasts exotic cars for repainting and he told me that there is one drawback to painting a soda blasted vehicle. He said the metal is so slick that paint sometimes has a hard time adhering to the metal. He also said a common problem was...
The original part number for the fuel filter assembly listed in T.O. 35C2-3-499-1 is 2436210110. The new part number is 2436210120. Please note that although the two filter assemblies look virtually identical, you will need to carve a very small amount of plastic from the new filter to mount...
I agree that the 34787 has a longer extended length of 23.25 inches vs. 21.75 inches for the 66905. Also, the 34787 has a longer compressed length of 14.25 inches vs 12.75 inches for the 66905. However, the upper and lower mounting studs on the 34787 are 1/2 inch, the same as the military...
I'm using Monroe 34787 shocks on my A2. They fit perfectly and look identical with what I removed. I called Monroe Technical Support and they gave me the 34787 number when I told them it was for an M35A2. The Monroe guy seemed to be very familiar with MV applications. I also have an A3 and...
