I like it too. Loved the fabricated look so much I had it powdercoated clear. Those are the bolts that shipped with the cover but I want something else. Shiny bolts aren't going to cut it. Heck, still debating what to do with the front studs. I put all new ones in the dually rotors and they have...
Speaking of cab/chassis rear ends, I got to clean it up a bit today. It's amazing how much the tubes get eaten away by the ubolt design coupled with the Ohio winters. Luckily the tubes on 14 bolts are quite thick. Got this cleaned up a bit before install. Backing plates are being replaced...
If I may add to this. The stepdown butt connectors are insulated but I knocked the connector out of the insulator and used heat shrink as an added measure.
It would be helpful to know the voltage on each battery. From there a little guidance can be administered. Since you have to smash the pedal to light the glow circuit, I'll assume this is an Alpha Heaven truck. There is no way to help with the information we have. I would also refer you to TM...
The shiny tan GSA. truck I bought had the Gen 2 light on and wasn't chathing. Inspection revealed a loose positive stud on the alt. I took a spare that stopped working a while back to the bench and rebuilt it. Swapped in new batteries and the rebuilt alt. Good to go.
Agree with Matt on this one. The coils on the shocks, muck like air shocks are about to be a thing of the past. Shock mounts are not designed to carry loads.
Mine was done the other way. The 24V Leece Neville alts were replaced with the 12V 160A versions. Since they are isolated grounds they were plumbed into each battery. Working great over a yr and the alts are very common on otr trucks.
Very nice. Looks like the M1010 population is up. What's the deal with the alternators in the back? Looks like someone was planning on going to the standard CUCV charging system. I really like mine!
Without knowing how it was converted, would be hard to guide you to a safe way to bypass. Probably best for resale to get in there and fix it. If it's a tumbler issue, it's likely only $20 in parts. The switch itself isn't much more if not cheaper. Both can be done without major dissasembly of...
Maybe we should get back to basics. Since you have the air shift lever, we were all assuming that you had the air shift transfer case. Since your truck was assembled by someone else, we need to confirm this. Look at the front of the transfer above the front driveshaft. Is there an air hose...
I've seen one on a deuce tractor. Funnier than a car load of circus clowns with the fenderwells in place. If you plan on smoothing that out, should loook pretty decent!
Don't be dissapointed if the Aervoe doesn't match. Colors vary from computer to computer for sure but I'd not rule out 34052. It's used by the Navy and subsequently the Marines. Do you have the registration number of the truck or a pic of the data plate in the door? Good possibility it's a Navy...
