See my latest post on your thread "rebuild kit for air valve". We had a problem with one of our 5 tons in cold weather last night. Draining the transfer, flushing it with diesel oil and refilling with transdraulic oil solved the problem. Read the post in the other thread for more...
We just had an experience with our 5 ton dump last evening that mgiht help you. It would not drive in forward in the cold weather. We drained the transfer case oil and refilled it with diesel fuel. We drove it about 1/2 mile, then tried the front engagement. It worked now. We drained the diesel...

I would definitely follow the specs, and yes, you are at risk of damage if you run your truck for many hours. We have had loose settings hammer valve tips and push rods. Virtually all engines specify a closer setting on the intakes than exhaust because the exhaust valve gains stem...
Do you hear the air cylinder on the TC shift when you move the stick from neutral to reverse? I recognize that you rebuilt the cylinder, but sometimes it helps to ask what might seem like a dumb question. If you do not hear it make the "clunk" sound when you move the stick, check for air line...
I saw the price, and said no way. I have rebuilt two using off the shelf O-rings and parts I fabricated. I made the two sealing discs out of conveyor belting that is polymer, not rubber, with a cloth inner reinforcement. It has one very smooth side. I removed the old rubber discs from the...
I take exception to loose is better than tight. "Loose" needs to be clarified. If valve lash is too loose, performance degrades and the valve train parts get hammered to potenital destruction. The ramps on the cam lobes are designed to start gradually opening the valves with the correct lash. If...
My M-37 has the spare on the rack on the driver's side door. that frees up the bed space. I took the tire and rack off because it was a pain when getting in and out. It has the jump seat and was a commo truck.

A farm equipment dealer that sells AGCO will have parts for the White motor, which also will fit the other makes of multifuel. Ask for parts for the engine in the White 2-135 and/or 2-150 tractor. I do not know how prices will compare.

This is not my day! I meant to say I found your interest in old Jeeps interesting, not construction equipment! I had just read another post expressing interest in old dozers, etc. and got it mixed up.
We have a parts J-200, 1964 and an M-715 that is a good running vehicle, but...

You are right, I got my numbers wrong. I can understand you wanting to get one! A really nice way to go. I also understand your dislike of the government who wants to get into your pocket so deep for all of the commercial requirements. Just another tax in my estimation!
I worked at...
My Canadian M-37 has an 8 ball in the upper right corner of the passenger door. Weight classification of 8 tons seems a bit heavy for it! There must have been several dedicated meanings depending on the unit.

Our deuces and 5 tons do well in cold weather, given we do not ford water with them! The advice about dragging the brakes lightly to dry them out is good after you get into water.
Our trucks started in 10 degree weather yesterday. Man, I love warm weather the most!!! I never was a "snow...

Hello! This is Marti from Warsaw, IN. Welcome!!
I am not sure I would recommend a 915 for long range road hauling. You might be better with a civilian tractor of some kind because it will give you better road speed at less cost per mile. I do not own a 915, so this is an opinion...
All of our trucks are turned up with boost gauges installed. We use locally purchased air pressure gauges with appropriate scales. We run 15 pounds boost for normal acceleration. They will develop 30 pounds boost at full fuel, but we limit the time duration. My son kicked butt on a stock Ford...
I still prefer the tank types that pull coolant from the block drain and put heated water back in the water manifold at the top of the engine. This way, you are assured the heat is where you want it, throughout the cylinders, head, and intake. I do not see how the heater in the water pump can...
Just my preference, but I like the 15 minute feature over Ebay. I feel it is more fair to all than the sudden death of Ebay. It is all in how you look at it. They offer you the convenience of participating in as close to a real auction as you can and not have to travel beyond your computer. All...
I might mention also that there are two clamp bolts, one on the distributor base and one to the block as you can see in the picture provided by another member. Make sure both are tight.
