My previous post was abbreviated with spell error because this thing has kicked me out four times even though I check the remember me box and logged in again twice. FRUSTRATING!!!

Good engines, we have good service form them. Fuel turned up helps with proper gauging. The White 2-135 and 2-150 farm tractors used these motors with 4000+ hours being normal. Get the Implement and Tractor manual for these tractors to get good engine specifications. I think you will like it...
The M135 winch is the same, just has the ends switched side to side and the worm gear in a different direction in the case, which can be changed. I do not have any parts winches, sorry!
Regards Marti
I can say chains make me feel unstoppable when I put them on my M-37. They work well on snow, ice, and mud. The nice thing is they do not load up in mud like tire treads do, maintaining their driving ability.
I have a set for my M543A2 wrecker, but have not yet had to use them. A retiring...
I repaired a line on a friend's truck from the compressor to the line on the frame. They had a problem with the original line, went to NAPA, who gave them a nylon or whatever polymer line it is to replace the copper line. The air temperature out of the compressor is too high for that material...
I noticed that in the Dec 2009/Jan 2010 issue of Supply Line, page 14, picture #2 taken on Iwo Jima during the invasion shows a truck with dual fronts. The truck is at right center in the color photo. The truck at left center might have them too, but it is hard to tell. I did not copy the...
I can testify from experience that the M135 axles are not as tough as the Rockwells in the M35 series trucks. I have had pinion bearings go out in the M135 axles, and the axle shafts will twist off easier. We tried an expreiment with a center punch on the axles. The M135 axle shafts could be...
I cnnot agree with the light bulb statement for these multifuels. We have many hours on our engines with no problems. We do not just use them for light duty. The same basic engine is used in White farm tractors. I have neighbors who have over 4,000 hours on them with no problems under hard pull...
The winch is the same as the M35 series winches, but you need to switch the ends around on the spool, and the direction the worm gear comes out of the end housing. I will have to look at my trucks to confirm I am remembering right.

I have seen photos of duals on the fronts on trucks in the African desert campaigns in WWII. I would caution that without power steering, if the outer tire hits an obstruction such as a rock or root, the steering wheel can be torn out of your hands, possibly breaking fingers or a wrist. Ask any...
That would be some bass boat trailer! I can just imagine the comments and looks when you backed into the ramp with that truck and trailer!
Have fun!

Attached are photos of the "coyote condo" my son and I built to hunt the wiley coyote. We are setting it on a frame on a M139 bridge truck. The condo is 6' x 7', has four windows for observation and shooting, has insulated walls and ceiling, and a trap door in the bottom for access from the M139...
Come out of the block drain on the passenger side rear of the engine, to the tank heater, then to a unused plug in the intercooler. This assures complete through the block circulation. coming out of the water pump will not work as well.

Thanks to Nonotagain for making me check my Mopar book again. ALL 360 engines have cast cranks. My statement in my previous post that they were made with both cast and forged was incorrect. Keep the torque converter and front damper that came with it on your 360 to prevent problems. The...
We can relate to your happiness with your wrecker. Ours makes jobs like this so much safer and easier than when we used a Payloader to do the work. If a heavy part needs moved 1/8" for some reason, the controls are precise enough to do it with safety and confidence. We will have to take some...
It is a simple bolt for bolt swap. The flex plate has nothing to do with balance, but the converter might. Check both the 318 converter and the 360 converter. Look on the face of the converter that bolts to the flex plate. If you see a couple of small weights welded to the face of the converter...
With the difficulty involved in changing tires by hand, I would first try blasting with the tire in place on a wheel. I do not think the blasting will affect the rubber much. Masking would be needed for painting.

Bjorn:
Yes, the operation is on/off, sorry, I should have answered that. The TX-200 appears to have the same construction for the retarder.
We are considering an air cylinder shift for a conversion we are making in a GMC 5500 truck. It will be a lot simpler than trying to get mechanical...
Bjorn:
Hello! I am assuming that you have an Allison transmission. The lever to a valve on the side of the transmission activates the valve, controlling the retarder action. The valve lever was usually connected to a pedal on the floor board that, when depressed, actuated the retarder. The...
