We have a tendency to want to think of these trucks (and anyone who might be riding in them) as being invincible.
This sad incident drives home the fact that nothing could be further from the truth. :(
All three of the Big Three have built some excellent vehicles...and they have all built some real turds throughout the years as well. Just my observation.
Didn't get the opportunity to ride in it (regrettably), but still enjoyed seeing it in operation just the same.
It is the second time in my life that I have gotten to see one move under its own power (the 1st was Jim Henry's at Denton this spring).

hi Ricky, I bought I winch deuce from John this spring and thus far have enjoyed it immensely. Hi passing was almost as saddening to me as the loss of my own parents.
Try poking around in a few heavy truck salvage yards that have civilian commercial trucks with Cat 3116s in them. I would think that you could find what your looking for there and easily adapt it to the 3116 in the A3. Just a suggestion.
islandguydon has that "Floating Command Center" he recently picked up. Not sure what the correct model number or designation is on it: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/conversations/92258-deuce-food-bank-delivery.html
Hooked it up to the deuce and took it for a test tow around the neighborhood last night. Lights and brakes all function as they should. One of the air hoses has a leak though.
Didn't get any pictures of the combination, as it was dark by that time. Will try to take some this weekend though.
It'll be coming to Graves with me, because I bought joediveguys' S250 that he is supposed to deliver to me there and it's going inside of it to make my new hooch. [thumbzup]
