When I picked mine up Friday it ran just north of 200 on the gauge too. I was running about 50 then ran all out on the interstate. It was low to mid 80's outside. When I stopped for 15-20 minutes I let it idle and it cooled down to 180 but not below.
I did notice the from head may have a...
A suburban 5 ton or deuce. I like it!!!!! Here is my poor rendition of a crewcab using Breelan's truck. I'd like to set the rears back to center them in relation to the bed.
It was a maintenance truck. They jack up the bows and pin them. The expanded metal is to keep the tarp from sagging. Since the bows are higher the tarp is short and hard to keep tied. The extra space below the tarp is usually extra canvas or plywood. That way they can stand up in it and...
I went to get my deuce from Camp Ripley today. Fairly uneventful. Two hours up, 15 minutes tops in the motorpool, three hours back. It popped right off, 1/2 tank of fuel, drives pretty nice.
My only concern is it ran 200-215 degrees all the way home. At first I slowed down a bit but once...
RE: Re: RE: I Need A Starter or a Rebuilt Starter
I asked my local rebuild shop to quote a Delco starter but 12 volt. They said $200 plus my core. Won't be waterproof but....
I found some bar stock at work in the scrap bin and am going to make my own adapters. Can someone with adapters like these get me the two dimensions? I need the distance between the red and blue lines.
Sorry you'll have to click on the file. I can't convert it to a jpeg and keep my markups...
I'm sure you are aware but 8.3's eat fuel filters in the dust. We were changing them daily in Guatamala. You're also probably running JP8 so depending on how long the truck's been in country any sludge from running #2 will be cleaned out by the JP8. I was about to say who cares about EGT's in...
I'm thinking of converting my bed to a dump. What is the weight of a std bed? I might be doing a crewcab conversion later this summer so the bed will end up being 8' to 9' once I'm done. I also have a line on a free hoist but haven't gotten to look it over and determine it's capacity.
I'd triple check your state for CDL, especially if you ever plan on going out of state. CDL is federal but each state has their own laws too. A 38K truck pulling a trailer of any decent size is a lot of weight over the 26K limit. A pntle hitch and enough weight gets you into a class A license.
I'm on 30+ days waiting on my EUC. Once it hits I'll be going to Ripley to get mine. Luckily I'm only 135 miles away. Send me a PM with the lot number and I can give it a look see. I'm already going to do it for another SS winner. I did look at all the trucks that sold in April. All look...
RE: Re: RE: Neato...
The Mercedes loader backhoe is the SEE small emplacement excavator. Good idea just not quite up to the task. The Case hoe works pretty good the loader is a POS. It has left side hydraulics and a hyd chain saw and pavement breaker. At the time it was imported by...
