    New style CJ deuce?

I wonder if a std truck cab would section onto the front end sheet metal? Might have to go 5 ton but fully enclosed, no air leaking doors, good wipers, etc. You could pick a cab up fairly cheap and probably get decent air ride seats included.

    My new project

Would this make it an M35.5 or deuce and three quarters? Good job. How did the move go? What type of fasteners did you use?

    My new bolster trailer pics.

We had them in our Engineer company. We hauled just about everything on them. We had a wooden hooch built on ours. Poor man's RV but it sure worked good in bad weather. In pic 643 you see the short clamps that slide on the I beams. The longer bars in pic 640 can be added to make tall...

Will the six bolt rims off a cab over Isuzu NPR truck work?

    Interesting video

Looks like an air cleaner off an 800 series 5 ton. Interesting idea. Not sure if that's spanish or portugese. One of the posts talks about a 5.9L cummins. I wonder if it's a repower?

    batteries

If you look at the specs of a 6tl it doesn't have that great of cranking power compared to "car" batteries. The calcium plates allow it to hold a charge longer. This is important if the truck sits for a long time. Even below zero my twin 770 CCA batteries start my 6.6 diesel. I don't see any...

    GSA tracks in SC

These are the ultimate offroad RV. Sits four across the front seat. The cab heater gets so hot your could iron clothes on it. It's a long metal box contraption on the lower part of the dash. The rear area has metal bows and can have a hoist mounted to it for loading arty shells. You could...

    selling a deuce

Craigs List but make sure you comment on anything that will help a search. M35, Army, military, etc. Also post in areas close to you. Even though I'm in the Minneapolis area I search all of MN, WI, and other areas. I've seen classic cars posted in MPLS that are from AZ, CA, and Chicago.

    M35A2 Insurance.. Got it!

I had USAA quote everything I insure. Vehicles were competitive but they where obsecene on house insurance. They valued my house way over what was resonable and wouldn't allow a lower value to be insured. I'm talking $80K+. That reminds me I need to talk to my agent. If I strike out I'll...

RE: Re: RE: now thats a nice looking rim What is a Dayton wheel? I was thinking of using wheels that go on the five spoke cast iron hubs.

    Daisy chain towing deuces

I've seen it done twice. Two deuces behind a 5 ton and another time behind a recovery Hemmitt. Both times it was tow bar to tow bar. I wouldn't go over 40...if you can even manage that!!!! I doubt it's legal as a civilian. I've never seen a tactical vehicle pulled over though. If the...

    Wheel bolt pattern

OK I give up. I've spent 30 minutes looking for the bolt pattern specs for the deuce. What are they please. I've got a couple of ideas for wider rims and have a possible contact at a wheel mfg. We sell to the otherside of the company at work so they should give me the time of day.

GL found a new way to screw us.

The only way to make sure is to print or save everything. I've caught a couple GL postings with pics of two different trucks. I e-mailed them on one because I was really interested in one but not the other. It turned out to be the one I didn't want. I did get a reply from GL thanking me for...

    M49 or M50 tanker

RE: Re: RE: M49 or M50 tanker Thanks for the input. I'll have to check the tank out. Having hauled fuel in a previous life I should known the tank should be SS or aluminum.

    M49 or M50 tanker

I'm going to look at a deuce this weekend. It's a tanker, not 100% sure but it should be an M49 fuel tanker. If the tanker body is in decent shape is it worth an even trade for a std deuce bed? The price is right but I have zero interest in the tanker. The deal won't be very good if I have...

    Multifuel trans question

We had a multifuel 5 ton dump when I first joined the Army. I swear it had 4th and 5th gear in the right spot, 4 up and 5 down. It always caught me off guard shifting the trans in the M817's we had too. Am I crazy or do some of the 5 speeds have a normal shift pattern versus the swapped 4th...

    M977 pics

It feels like you're driving a Greyhound bus. We had to use our M977 to pull a M123 and dozer. The M870? trailer had a D7 on it. The 10 ton winch was broken so we dug out under the tongue with a loader. After I hooked to the trailer with the 10 ton I didn't have the power nor traction to...

    Holy strong bows Batman!

Re: RE: Re: RE: Holy strong bows Batman! Actually this was the second pass for the deuce. They first had to extract the wing gunner.
