After searching for Rivnut or Nutset tool or set I finally settled on a homemade tool. The MEP-701As come with the ASK panels attached to the frame with threaded inserts. These inserts, like rivets with threads, tend to become loose and are a pain to deal with. The last 701A I got had most of...
On the MEP-016B there are little sound deadening panels of foam that are under the scroll cover. You have to remove most of them to find the attaching bolts underneath.
I haven't been into an 003, yet, but I think I might soon.
OK, I thought you use the 24V to run the 30D36R starter. I was thinking "No wonder it got hot, a miracle he didn't kill the starter."
Yes, the 30D36R is a WR motor coupled to a Baldor ( I think) 3.1kW head.
The 002 with 4100 hours went cheapest, at $640. Most were in the $700s and up to $1200+.
I was thinking of picking up one or two but only if they went super cheap, which they didn't, IMHO.
I think I can top that:
6115 - Generator and Generator Sets, Electrical at Government Liquidation
Pics 1 and 2 show an 002A, but description and dimensions are 003A, I think.
Engine or regulator. Can't a bad regulator or shorted diode bog down an engine?
The 003 should hardly blink at 8 Amps.
Maybe switch it to three phase and with no load check voltages of all three phases?
My MEP-701A registers a load on the meter when you use the convenience outlet if you have the switch in the right place.
What kind of saw are you using? A 3HP table saw might load it up some.
The GL person probably wanted whatever was in the back. Technically, he/she should not be able to take anything out of or add anything to auction lots, especially after the new owner (you) have seen the stuff and taken posession.
Today I verified an MEP-016B will work with an SX460 VR. I wired the gen output output single phase 120 and set the jumper on the SX460 for 120V use. They do make three phase VRs but I did not use one. I am not sure if the SX460 will work in three phase applications but there are other...
Yes, on one hand. But, on the other, where can you buy a used 12.5kW Diesel generator as good as those for $3000? If you have familiarity, experience, and parts then the chances that you can get it running (if not already) are good.
I suppose the plastic is lighter than the rubber, and easier to cut to width.
I also suppose off roaders like to run lower pressures for greater traction and hitting a rock or something might break the bead without the beadlocks in place.
Most "off road" style vehicles never go off road, though...
Good deal. If you ever come to LA I'll give you $180 for one of them.
Everything I get from GL seems to have a floor of $250. I can't complain, though. One day I'll be like the old coots "Back in my day, you could get good surplus stuff for only $250!"
