On the MEP-016B there are little sound deadening panels of foam that are under the scroll cover. You have to remove most of them to find the attaching bolts underneath. I haven't been into an 003, yet, but I think I might soon.

The Pow'r Gard 30D36R 3kW has a 12V starter, I think. If you jump it with your CUCV you might make sparks.

My MEP-701A registers a load on the meter when you use the convenience outlet if you have the switch in the right place. What kind of saw are you using? A 3HP table saw might load it up some.

I suppose the plastic is lighter than the rubber, and easier to cut to width. I also suppose off roaders like to run lower pressures for greater traction and hitting a rock or something might break the bead without the beadlocks in place. Most "off road" style vehicles never go off road, though...
