I just did a search and I had NO luck finding any of those threads. Glad I saved the links from them. The thread must have been named something different and went into something about a steering column...... OH well I thought for sure the search would have found those threads.
For the Blazer you do not need the Over drive unless you plan on changing out your axles 3.08 gear ratios to something like 4.10, 4.33 or 4.56 ratios. The Blazer is fine with a standard 3 speed auto. No need for Over Drive.
SOUTHDAVE can you post some more pictures? Also which A/C kit did you use? I though moving the batteries would be the best thing to do. Glad to see someone doing it. Thanks for the two pics.
Good question. I think it would just be easier and look allot better with a commercial high quality pad. BUT you may discover the next best thing to do your self for the CUCV.
some of my fondest memories are when my dad would take me and my brother to school in his dodge power wagon. He would usually make a quick detour to hit the local mud hole. Nothing to deep but covered the entire truck in goo. LOL. I can still see the muddy water wave hit the truck![thumbzup]...
And you should see her shoot that Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45-70 Government! Yah it has 450 grain Buffalo Bore loads in it to. Grizzly Bears anyone? If you think she can shoot that wait until you see her with her Steyr Aug![thumbzup]
Pretty much all geared the same. Just purchase one built for a 4x4 diesel 6.2.. You will need a Throttle Control cable for a 700R4. If you find a diesel 4x4 suburban with a 700R4 you will have everything.
When ever you change brake lines they should all be done at the same time. Old ones give and you wont have as good of braking on all corners with the old lines. "Cheap" and brake lines should never be in ones mind. Quality. Now to help you out. Go over to Off Road Design and check out there...
Pull the grille assembly. Very easy and no battery to remove. Once you have the new one in fill the plug with Dielectric grease to keep moisture out. (plug as in the electrical connection for the wires not the bulb socket)
The title says http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/7464-700r4-swap-into-m1008-3.html#post838138 . If it was a typo and intended for a M1009 I would not see a reason to do this swap as stated above. BUT if for a M1008 then I stand by what I said.[thumbzup]
A 105! Man that thing is a BEAST! It weighs in nearly as much as your M1008. OK maybe not "nearly" but ****ed close! Just pick up a nice M101A1 trailer.
Anyone that tells you that is not very smart. The 700R4 has a lower first gear than the TH400. While a gear vender does split the gears it still lacks in the overdrive department. The 700R4 has a .70 over drive! The cost of a trans and the swap by most transmission places will still be...
For minute there I thought you lost your marbles. All of my M101a1 trailers have the same rims and tires as my M1028. BUT then I remembered that one trailer I have in the corner. It has those HUGE 5 lug M37 type lug nuts and bolt pattern. You can do a couple of things. One is go on GL and...
