LOL! Mine's RHD too. You actually pass other cars n trucks on the road?? Braver man than I!!! The right hand drive makes it easy to check the mail box though it's a real pain to order at the drive thru!
Sweet lil' lightweight! Y'a want a 109?? Hahahaaa! Bring it to the rally! (or my house!)
The...
I hope that answered your tackle block question. Kind'a got side tracked. 8)
Slope or uphill pull shouldn't have any effect on calculations, just like water.
Mire factor(how deep the truck is stuck in the slop) friction is the only load increasing factor. TLR will decrease if it's a rolling...
Don't forget your tackle resistance which is 10% of your load resistance (veh. weight +cargo weight X mire factor - reduction factor) X # number of sheaves (1 less than # of mechanical advantage) which will finally give you your total load resistance.
I used to do alot of 1-1 pulls when I used...
You do need to be handy with the wrenches if you have one but I've been all over the East coast in my 78 MOD109. All back roads!
I need to trade it for a Lightweight, I got a lil trailer to haul all my camping crap in so now I need to down size to a Lightweight.
Ya'll need to attend the Oct...
Going down the Ab15 route you will need to mod your mounting bracket to fit the 2" AB15 base though. An AB558 will work with the 116,117,118 antenna setup and use the larger more common mounts found on your truck. Or manually tune and cut a 6707 setup.
There's a 6m version out there too. I almost got it but the price went through the roof on Peebay. :-o
Boat anchors are cool, CD boat anchors are cooler!
I should have a 15ft tall 6m. dipole set up this fall for my base radio. It should reach out there pretty far although the vehicle's whip was reaching base from the BBQ joint with 4 watts.
If you have a green radio bring it! Green trucks and green radios go hand in hand.
Great site to take...
If you're just going to drag it behind a civy truck then the ball hitch won't need swapped out/repaired to put a pintle back on but is it a safe mod??? Bubba can't weld! I've never seen a bubba mod I'd trust! EVER!
By the time you buy new tires and do repairs, make, buy or mod a wiring harness...
Some folks have to double up and use 2 gaskets in there. From what I've seen the down pipe flange and fitting gets all warped and rotted. You'll have the same problem if you break the joint down there near the muffler too! (ask me how I know) LOL!
I personally don't like having my home also my transportation. It suxs having to pack up your home to just run into town for provisions or run down the trail. A small Expedition (I sooo hate that word) style popup trailer I feel is a better setup. Drag it in, drop it and now you have a home/base...
Hey,
Why the filter on the return/overflow line?? (upper line running through firewall)
There should be an angled brass fitting on the carb for the small stock filter to screw into.(lower line to pump) Bad things happen when that filter is screwed directly into the carb without the fitting...
I'm looking for shows near Sav. Ga. and found a hamfest in Charleston SC. early next month. Might just go to take a look, old tube boat anchors have peaked my interest lately. Maybe there will be some OD green stuff there too.
The finer strands in welding cable should increase amp capacity right?
I've always had huge improvements in starting by replacing stock batt. leads with same gauge welding cable, esp. if they are long runs.
Lots of work, very little payoff about sums up heaters in an M151.
I'll add one when I move back up into the Tn. mountains but here in south east Ga. it's not worth all the cussing and bleeding.
We didn't even have them in our jeeps in Germany. "Not authorized, arctic use only"
SWB,
The same...
LOL! I'm just the live in mechanic/co-owner. It's her's but I get to use it. ;-)
She said I couldn't have another MV so I built her one!
Ya' got to get crafty with those wives some times. Hahahaaaa!
