its to hook a hood latch to when your hood is open. so a gust of wind does not blow the hood down on you. it might be covered in the operators manual TM.
or a cyst.... i didnt want that to pop and make a mess! the brake fluid was yellow-ish in color too. looked ok, but i put fresh in at $32 a quart from napa.
also, i would look at the over all condition of the truck. some trucks i have seen have newer brake parts on them, new engines, some are rusty, etc. i dont think you have too much to worry about with rust out there though. to me, over all condition of the truck is what matters before options.
well if it gets cold where you are, a heater is nice. a lot of heat comes off the engine though, so you can try a deuce without one and see if you need it later. if you plan on taking it offroad, a winch is super nice. its like having a 2 wheel drive truck, then switching to a 4 wheel drive...
And to think i didnt pick the words "bulge", "hose", "rubber", "breaking" the same sentence because i thought that would turn into a joke. haha! its all good!
well last night i changed all the brake hoses on my M109. I ordered them from eriks military surplus. i also put pressure to the master cylinder and blew out the lines before i put the new hoses on. also while the hoses were off i blew out the lines to each wheel cylinder at the bleeder, since...
it didnt tip on its side, it went one side in the ditch and scrapped up against the rocks. it never let me down yet... hopefully someday i can fix it up again.
im just shocked for the past 2 years, i thought i was greasing the throwout bearing. it seems like you would almost never have to grease the shaft though... i would think the throwout bearing would be more important to get grease. who knows, some of our trucks could have 30 year old grease in...
no it was not. i just dont know if i could buy just the seals and go that route if everything else on my turbo was in good shape. maybe this could pertain to the C turbo also. i know the kits are not the same, but if somebody had a turbo leaking oil like mine, it would be nice to know if just...
is it possible to just buy the oil seals? the D turbo on my LDS-465 1A leaks oil in the intake and smokes a lot which it may be leaking on the exhaust side too. just a thought if i just needed those seals and gaskets or if i should just get the whole kit. Thanks!
Gimp,
so you are saying the grease fitting on the throwout bearing only greases the shaft and not the bearing itself? there is only one grease fitting in there for the clutch, correct?
yea, i know some of the guys in the hose shop too. i guess i should pull the hoses off and take them over to have them made up. are they common fittings on the ends?
I was working on the M109 over the weekend putting the stuff on from my old deuce onto the new one and found i need a new turbo...
Any ideas what i shoukd use for a tongue on the deuce frame? I like the M105 landing gear but is the tongue strong enough to be attached to a deuce frame that i would use to put the M109 box on? The M105 frame width and the deuce frame width are the same so maybe it would be easier im thinking...
Do you think M200 hubs can fit on an M105 axle? long story short, make an M200 axle out of a M105 axle. i know the tube diameter is different and the width from spring to spring. I want to get a deuce frame to mount M105 springs to and then get the dual wheels of an M200.... it would be easier...
any updates on this thread? i am thinking about putting my M109 Box on a deuce frame with M105 springs and either my M200 axle or a dualed M105 axle. does anybody know if we can flip the hubs on a M105 to make them dualed like the M200? if its too much of a pain to make the M105 trailer axle...
I put 12,000 miles on the deuce in the 2 years i have had it. I drive it to work and parked in the parking lot that was close to the plant. I wasnt supposed to park in that lot but there was one spot that was oversized in the back i would park in all the time. Everybody knows its my truck and...
