Bringing/looking for at Gilbert 2011 thread

I'm also bringing a WWII navy gas generator 400hz. It could be a nice little unit to either fix up or parts. I just don't need it really and wouldnt mind trading it for other deuce parts. I will also be bringing a FMTV cargo cover.

Bringing/looking for at Gilbert 2011 thread

I'll be looking for m200a1 parts.'I could use the air brake hoses, filters, relay valve, safety chains, the metal plate that goes over the tongue, parking brake cables and levers. Also some tail lights. The trailer is a little project of mine and I'm still up in the air on some things but that...

    Replace all your M35 weatherstripping

Was the original stuff just rubber? The only thing that concerns me with that stuff is I heard some of it can absorb water in the foam and keep wet and cause rust or freeze in the winter? Maybe it isn't the same stuff, it was just something that my dad told me when I was thinking about using...

    Deuce govenor sticking?

I had a similar issue with my truck that it would idle faster pointing down hill vs when it was pointing up hill. Turned out the problem was the throttle shaft on the IP where it connects to the torque arm. It's like part of the torque arm fits in a slot on the shaft that had a bigger gap than...

    Snow plow setup

I want to put a plow on my deuce... That would be awesome. I would only be plowing some neighbors driveways and would hardly ever use it seeing I have my jeep. But the couple times a year I would use it to push the snowbanks back would be priceless :o) Good luck with your project, keep us...

Found metal in my transfer case

I had the exact same experience with the transfer case in my deuce. When I drained my oil I found a small piece of a bearing cage also. I'm not sure what to make of it but the TC works fine and never has given me a bit of trouble in the 10,000 miles I put on it since i bought it. It would be...

    Steering box Failure

How freely are those steering pucks supposed to turn? When I put new bushings in my steering box, I noticed that they did not turn as easy as I thought they would bring that they were bearings. I think I looked in the TM but didn't find an answer.

Has this oil really been in there 19 years?

That is very interesting. My question is what did they do for engine break-in after the overhaul? I know with diesels they should be propery broken in so the rings are set and the cylinders do not glaze. My M35A2 runs great and does not smoke much at all. Now my M109A3 with the multifuel smokes...

    Oliver 2150 with multifuel

Gimp, Who used these lower compression multifuel pistons? All, What would be the downside to a lower compression multifuel besides harder to start in the cold? Seems like lower compression might be easier on the rods and make the multifuel engine a little more durable? Not saying they are bad...

Turbo Exhaust on a non turbo truck

Looks good! I also wondered how a deuce would sound with a split exhaust manifold and dual stacks. I bet it would sound pretty neat.

    Oliver 2150 with multifuel

There is a thread out there also that talks about the white 2-135 tractor that had a "multifuel" engine in it. I thought that had 18:1 compression though. I'm also thinking about injection pumps. It would be nice to be able to have a governor that wouldnt let the engine rev past 2300 to prevent...

    Oliver 2150 with multifuel

So I wonder how the "multifuel ability" changes with the 18:1 compression ratio vs the deuces 22:1 compression ratio. Would it be possible to put one of those engines in a deuce for lower compression and then get a bigger turbo to make more power and boost. 22:1 is high but my thought is 18:1...

    Compressor going bad?

Ditto on the channel locks but a compressor wrench would be nice someday....

    Oliver 2150 with multifuel

I'd like to see how it would do with an LDS under the hood! :D

    It's a m309!

Wow, looks good. I also have a m109a3 and an m200a1 trailer I was thinking about doing that to. It's not often you use the m109 as a camper but it would still be nice to have around. I'm almost leaning toward making the m200a1 into a dump trailer though... Too many choices! Haha

    Fall 2011 Rausch Creek rally

I forgot my dada shoulder surgery is the 21st and with my broken leg, I really hope I can make it. I know dad was saying if it was the weekend before he would go. But then again, I don't know how my leg will be. I'm not an expert at this broken leg and heal time. I broke it on the 5th, so would...
