What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? Finished the dual Optima battery mount and cleaned up all the battery related wiring. Also fixed another exhaust rattle, and re-tightened trans crossmember bolts for 5th or so time, and used lock tight this time to keep em tight.

Hey guys, been a while. Figured I'd show off where I'm at with the 1008

Hey Downrangecop, it's nice to see another CUCV in socal! I went with the 4L80E due to it's strength over the 700r4, no TV cable to have to adjust, and with an aftermarket computer controller you can change all the shift parameters and such with a computer to tune to your liking and driving...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Wayne, do you know what went in the trans? Was the trans killed by the lack if fluid cause it was pumping it all into the t-case? That's one reason I went with the 4L80E- too many stories of blown 700R4's.

I just did an alternator too. My alt 1 went out. So I got a brand new one for a 84 Cadi eldorado and took it apart. Put it back together using the insulators from the original and drilled the proper hole for the ground stud. Now I have a brand new isolated ground alternator. As soon as I get the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Today I installed some Rigid Industries lights. I got the 10" E-series spot/flood combo (pn: 11031). I want to give credit to Ben at FilthyMotorsports.com who was very helpful on the phone and got me the best price and advised me that the free shipping option would be best (I got the lights the...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Yup. That's exactly the way it works and it is a center off switch. Thanks. Hopefully this helps anyone else who might be doing some reverse lights in the future!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Here's how it came out. The new lights are much brighter than stock! I used a single pole double throw switch (aka 3 way switch). The three positions are manual on, off, or on in reverse. In the off position the lights do not come on when the truck is placed in reverse. Here is a rough schematic...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Installed some Rigid Industries lights on the rear. I'm gonna wire em up tomorrow so that they come on in reverse and on a switch so I can turn them on whenever.
