    4" vs. 6" lift on m1008 W/37" hummer tires

I have a 4" lift with 37x13.5's. A little fender trim and I was good to go. I highly recommend a cross-over steering set up no matter what lift you go with. Both look very good in my opinion. Cons to the 4" lift: -not as tall as 6" -needs fender trimming Cons to the 6" lift: -taller...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Sounds like the fuel filter base is leaking allowing air into the fuel system. Many people have fixed it by changing to a spin on type filter. Use the search to find the posts. And do not use staring fluid! It can and will cause instant engine death. Just a matter of luck that it hasn't so far...

Can't wait to see some pics! I'm looking into some more lighting for my truck too. I want some rigid industries 10" SR series lights, but man those rigid's are expensive!

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Well I parked mine cause I'm going on a mini vacation. But I saw some on the CA 101 N just now. Sorry about the poor picture quality.

    Diy rock sliders

By the way Shankem, this is when I realized I needed some rock sliders and undercarriage armor. I wish I had your sliders then!

You can barely see the ditch before we hit it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I actually had video rolling at the time! But all you can see is the camera go flying. Ha ha. And I'll be getting a turbo to help with the Cajon and other hills like it.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Drove it do the desert and went shooting. It does not like the Cajon pass. This thing is tough though! I was flying down a dirt road at about 65mph and saw the ditch to late to slow down enough. Entered the ditch at about 45-50 and caught some air on the other side. Ha ha. Nothing broken or...

    Steam Cleaning Engine compartment

Well, don't spray anything that is flammable near, on or in the alternators while the vehicle is running. It WILL ignite and start a fire. I was cleaning off a power steering pump to find a leak when I accidentally got some of the cleaner in the alternator and poof- instant flaming Lexus. Ha ha...

    Building a Simple Centrifuge

Well I have been busy with work lately, but I did a little work on this project today. No pics cause it looks the same as it did in the last pic. Ha ha. What I did today was drill larger holes in the bottom plate to essentially counter sink the bolts a bit. Once I bolted it down no more rubbing...

    Diy rock sliders

998Junkie, I am very picky when it comes to desert camo. That being said, your truck looks awesome! These rock sliders really look great on it too!

    m1008 towing

The controller is easy to use. Just expensive. Someone posted a link about a week ago to a new painless wiring brand trans controller that cost less. Also you can try to find the factory stand alone controller and wiring out of a stock 6.5/4L80 combo truck. Maybe your junkyard guy can help...

    m1008 towing

I agree with the 4L80 route. The 700r is like a TH350 but with an overdrive. The 4L80 is like a TH400 but with an overdrive. Especially if your planning on heavy towing, go for the stronger trans. And no matter what trans, get a nice trans cooler.
