I took a quik measurment today of the top plates on both the deuce and 5 ton. I belive the deuce was something about 4-3/4 wide and the 5ton is about 5" wide and longer then the deuce. But basically the same shallow u shaped channel.
I will get some more accurate measurments tomorrow.
Good looking tailer. You can use RAPCO 383 green, or if you can chip off a big enough piece you could take it to HomeDepot or any good paint store and see if they can match it.
edit: instead of trying to get a big chip, you could just remove the swinging slingpoint under the rear of the frame...
Just use a flat/ultra flat from the hardware store. You really only need a CARC substitute for the main color. Either 383 green or 686 tan. If you doing a 3color camo then get the brown as well. I believe most just use a hardware store flat black or flat white for the rest.
Thank you gringeltaube, Thats what I was hoping for. I was afraid there might have been a broken piece that I had just been chasing around the drum. I had just printed out the pages I need to do the tear down. Not sure I need to do that now. Still would like to know why it wont disengage. And...
When you put them side by side it looks like the Star Quarterback and his re.............uh handicapped little brother.:p

Stop posting and start reading. Start with the forum rules page. read, read, and read again until you can comprehend what it is that this site is all about. When you do post try to use proper puncuation (sp?) (yes, thats in the rules also)
Not trying to be an a$$, but your posts are hard to...
On page 2 of that pdf, what does "LL" (the dog clutch) engage into? Does it fit into a matching "dog eared" surface on the drum? What Im having a hard time figuring out from just looking at TM's and pictures is the fact that I can spin the worm gear several revelutions and it will not spin the...
Complaining about or making fun of the rules or the Moderators around here will make it very hard for you to enjoy this site for very long.
(sorry bad night to be a rule breaker tonight)
Bruce, you are 100% correct. A couple of years ago I had this exact problem and did just what you said to do, I PM's Chris to see how he felt. I save this PM just for reasons like this. Now maybe he has changed his attitude towards the rules, maybe not. I will post what he replied so others can...
When I pulled the drain plugs yesterday I was surprised to see nothing come out. I opened the side cover with the bull/worm gear and found no oil or water, there was a small amount of rust on the worm gear. (Thats the one on the input shaft right?) But when I opened the brake housing it was...
The mods have alot to deal with already. If we can keep ourselves inline it gives them time to enjoy the site for what it is.
Ever seen DH when he's "had enough"?
No real harm in that other than it is against site rules.
Whats the harm if Im alone on a flat, straight highway all by myself as far as the eye can see and the road is posted 55mph and I get popped for doing 70mph by highway patrol in an aircraft.
Rules are rules. Long drawn out disscusion...
