I've only driven it 3 or 4 times since , and only short trips . The top speed is so much higher I'm sure the mileage will be better ! It's my hillbilly overdrive ! Mark
I said I've never done a big truck but I've seen plenty of 1 tons twist shafts , the difference with the locker is just that it can unlock . Once you weld one up though it's permanent .Obviously it's opinion , fact would be doing this to multiple vehicles and coming up with similar conclusions ...
I adjusted the ones on my 5 ton till they sounded best ( I could here a slight change ) but the trucks air pressure was set at 90 psi , when I bumped the pressure up to 120 the horns were ungodly loud ! They are loud even in the cab , not to mention out in front of the truck .
The way you use your trucks you would break stuff , I wouldn't do it on a truck that carried any kind of weight . I've welded axles on mudders but never on a big truck and load it , could get really destructive ! It would definetly be interesting to watch !!!
I have most of the green stuff but I haven't slipped far enough for the radios yet , maybe a good excuse to get more vehicles before I feel the need for green radios ! Is this the way the desease progresses ?
I drive a semi too , but whoever made my vinyl top didn't put a window in it and it's a pain in the @%& sometimes ! A window you could open would help cool down the cab in the summer ! It's nice to look at what you have in back ( tie downs , ropes , chains ) also !
Looks better I'd leave the top on and just paint it all green , do put in a back window though ! Don't even look like the same truck , huge improvement !
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Well...
Don't forget those bigger tires generaly have a higher weight capacity also , one of my xzl's can almost carry the weight of my whole truck !
RE: elmos running
Cool Dave , you gonna at least try the trans ? It isn't like you could hurt it . Well one hurdle down , did you source a trans yet or still looking ?
You would be amazed how many tractor pics you can get off of GL alone , look in the 5 ton section here also . I've posted some of mine stock and with the 16X20's too .Most specs are available in the manual downloads .I'm looking at 2 more 5 ton tractors now ! Which one looks better ?
